Where did the biggest stars of the Grammys go after the show? To party with InStyle! We teamed up with Warner Music Group—along with Heineken and Mini Cooper—to co-host a post-Grammys bash at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, where stars including Amy Smart, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Abbie Cornish (in Roland Mouret) stopped by to celebrate music’s biggest night. “I love music and grew up with music,” Cornish told InStyle.com. “For me, music comes from the very beginning of my childhood. My parents played certain CDs, and they stay with you.” Rocker Sting, who attended with wife Trudie Styler, kept up the high energy of the night following his performance with Bruno Mars and Rihanna during the Bob Marley tribute. “I thought it was a really great show,” Sting said. “The acts were great and the atmosphere was wonderful, and I was very happy to be part of it.” Click through to see more stars who celebrated the Grammys with InStyle!

Abbie Cornish: Who Wouldn’t Love Working with a Stylist?

Ever wonder what it’s like to have a professional stylist create a perfect look just for you? “Heaps of fun!” according to Abbie Cornish, whose new crime comedy, Seven Psychopaths comes out tomorrow. She has loads of public appearances to promote the film, and every event requires a new look. So she teamed up with uber-stylist Jessica Paster—who also works with Emily Blunt and Jenna Dewan-Tatum—to help her pick out her wow-worthy ensembles, like the Roland Mouret, Reem Acra, Giulietta, and Emilio Pucci outfits above, from left to right. “I love working with a stylist who knows what’s good and what isn’t, what’s right for your body and what isn’t,” Cornish told InStyle.com at the after-party for her movie at No. 8 in New York City, hosted by the Cinema Society & Hugo Boss. “I’ve gone through phases where I’ve done it myself, and it’s such hard work. To try on a bunch of clothes and pick out an outfit with another girl is heaps of fun. Who doesn’t want that?” Choosing the Roland Mouret gown for last night’s New York premiere was a “no-brainer,” she said. “This dress is so easy to wear, and it’s beautiful–kind of like a painting,” she added. “Roland Mouret shapes dresses for women so beautifully. He just totally gets the woman’s body and accentuates it. I’m a big fan.

It looks gorgeous!” exclaimed the Dolce & Gabbana-dressed Paula Patton when she walked into the InStyle and Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s 13th annual Toronto International Film Festival bash, held at the Windsor Arms Hotel. Celebrities including Abbie Cornish of Seven Psychopaths (in Emilio Pucci), Mary Elizabeth Winstead of Smashed (in Tucker), and Patton’s Disconnect co-star Jason Bateman echoed her reaction throughout the night, as the main ballroom had been transformed into an amber dahlia garden thanks to Forget Me Not Flowers’s mastermind Frank Rea. The beautiful backdrop matched the beautiful crowd of filmmakers and stars—many bedecked in gold jewelry thanks to host, The World Gold Council—as they freshened up at Sephora’s touch-up station, sipped on custom Patron tequila drinks, snacked on crispy soba noodle cakes and mini-sliders, and kept the InStyle Sweet Treats candy barista busy refilling jars of M&Ms and sour gummies. “This is an amazing moment,” Patton added. “It’s fun to come to this party because it makes me feels like I’m back in film school again, where you’re celebrating the art of filmmaking.” Click through the gallery to see more stars at the InStyle and HFPA fête!

4 Ways to Wear Gold Nail Polish

RihannaTaylor SwiftAbbie Cornish, and Brooklyn Decker all gave their manis the Midas touch when they stepped out with shimmering gold polish, a shade we love because of how it can look both edgy and elegant. Rihanna put a new spin on the French manicure by adding metallic tips to a chalk white nail; Swift and Cornish wore their lacquers with white dresses; and Decker matched her nails to the gold sleeves of her J. Mendel gown. As these stars prove, the shade looks stunning paired with outfits in light and dark colors alike—save for a blinged-out 24-karat ensemble, which would appear too busy. Thanks to the black and white details on Decker’s dress, the result wasn’t too matchy-matchy. See more great celebrity-inspired nail polish ideas in the gallery.

Found It! Abbie Cornish’s Slate Nail Polish

Mar 29, 2012 @ 5:00 pm

We loved Abbie Cornish‘s steely manicure at a recent Restoration Hardware event in Beverly Hills, so we caught up with the actress to find out the exact shade she wore! Cornish lacquered up in the metallic Wasteland by CK One ($14; available April 23rd at ulta.com). “I’ve never worn a green dress like this before, and I wanted to set it off with a gray nail polish,” she told InStyle.com exclusively. “I used the gunmetal color, then paired it with a lighter shade by Topshop on my ring finger.” So pretty!

Abbie Cornish and Jena Malone Celebrate Coco Chanel and More!

Sep 23, 2011 @ 4:40 pm

Coco was an incredibly interesting woman who had a lot of pride and dignity in who she was,” mused Abbie Cornish, when she stepped out to toast the release of Justine Picardie’s book Chanel: Her Life at the West Hollywood outpost of Soho House. “You can spot her style a mile off.” Jena Malone agreed: “I like the feminine quality of Chanel. I am tomboyish, but when I want to be feminine I want all the bells and whistles.” Click through the gallery to see more celebrities at last night’s hottest events!
