Mother of Dragons, Game of Thrones returns tonight (9/8c on HBO)! Just one week ago, we watched Emilia Clarke make her Broadway debut in Breakfast at Tiffany’s wearing Colleen Atwood’s chic ’40s dresses—a far cry from the leather crop tops and dirtied skirts she’s worn as Thrones‘ Daenerys Targaryen. That’s why, when we caught up with the star at the play’s opening night after-party, we had to ask her: Which character’s costumes does she prefer to wear? “Colleen’s costumes help me get into character in so many ways! They’re corseted, which definitely helps. And I wear the proper [1940s] stockings with the runs. Everything about the costumes made me feel very much like Holly.” As Daenerys, she joked that her style on the fantasy series was “slightly different;” though, this season, as she travels home to take back the Iron Throne, the actress will be treated to more regal looks, like this blue hooded cloak.
