Color lit up the runway at Oscar de la Renta’s resort 2013 fashion show, held at his New York studio yesterday. Inspired by the garden, flowers—both printed and embroidered—embellished the designs, which came in bright hues like evergreen, pacific, and carnation. The theme extended beyond florals, with pretty watercolors, picnic gingham, and plant-like prints. The final evening looks added Hollywood glamour to the sophisticated lineup and ensured an Oscar de la Renta dress for every occasion, from a red carpet to a getaway. Chanel’s Cruise Collection: Our Favorite Looks

It took 16 tents, 480 seats, and three fountains to produce the beautiful spectacle that was Chanel’s cruise collection. Held at the Château de Versailles, the show’s pastel-bobbed and raven haired models walked in metallic lace-ups and heels along the restored Bosquet des 3 Fontaines. Fresh hues ranging from soft periwinkle to rich ruby decorated the 71 different looks in the show, which were accented with luxurious accents like gold embroidery, airy plumes and baroque embellishment. Tadashi Shoji Releases Octavia Spencer’s Gown for Brides

After collaborating with Octavia Spencer on her awards season attire, designer Tadashi Shoji transformed the elegant lavender column The Help star wore to this year’s Golden Globes into a stunning wedding dress. “I decided to make the ‘Octavia’ gown in ivory for our new bridal collection after the positive response,” Shoji told InStyle.com of the Golden Globe Best Supporting Actress winner’s pastel number. “I love the way the soft draping envelops the figure while the jewel embellishment adds sparkle for a bride’s big day.” And every bride deserves her own red carpet moment! The gown will be available for Spring 2013.
