Reem Acra to Debut HSN Collection

Perennial red-carpet favorite Reem Acra (Eva Longoria Parker and Selena Gomez are fans) is launching an affordable line with HSN that will hit your TV on September 22. The capsule collection offers styles that range from $39 for a shawl to $299 for a luxe sequined jacket. Despite Acra’s penchant for flowing gowns and evening looks, the HSN line will focus on traditional daywear pieces like tunics, dresses and jackets with Acra’s signature embellishments. “I know there a lot of women out there who appreciate great fashion and may not have access to it,” Acra said in a statement. “HSN provides that opportunity.” Click through our gallery to get a sneak peek at the collection!

Tell Us: Who Wore the Most Outrageous Outfit at the VMAs?

While some stars opted for simple, pretty dresses at last night’s Video Music Awards, many others kept the tradition of shocking style moments alive. Nicki Minaj rocked out in tons of brightly colored spandex, Ke$ha sourced her dress material (garbage bags) from Home Depot, Lady Gaga’s final outfit (which she donned to accept Video of the Year) was a dress made of meat(!) courtesy of designer Franc Fernandez, Cher channeled her “Turn Back Time” days in a sheer body stocking and Rihanna sported a fiery bob complete with headdress while performing on-stage with Eminem. MTV VMAs Star Style Report

The MTV Video Music Awards are known for not playing by the same rules as other awards shows. True to form, this year’s VMAs started with a fresh perspective: a bright white carpet, and new host in Chelsea Handler. The night’s most-nominated rule-breaker Lady Gaga set the white carpet ablaze when she stepped out in a stunning look from Alexander McQueen’s final collection, accessorized with a gilded feather mohawk headpiece. Check Out Gwyneth Paltrow in Country Strong!

Gwyneth Paltrow is starring in a new film, Country Strong, alongside country superstar Tim McGraw and Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester. In the film, Paltrow plays a famous country singer who attempts to revive her career after a booze-fueled downward spiral. McGraw plays her husband and manager, while Meester plays a young up-and-coming songstress threatening Paltrow’s success. The Hottest Colors for Spring 2011

Every year, the Pantone Color Institute releases the top 10 hues that will color fashion for the upcoming season. For Spring 2011, designers are using bold hues reminiscent of Africa, India, Peru and Turkey. “This time, everything is a little more exotic,” Pantone’s executive director Leatrice Eiseman said. And some of our favorite celebrities have already graced the red carpet wearing the bright, citrus tones: Lea Michele in Beeswax Yellow, Ashley Olsen in Regatta Blue, Jenna Fischer in Honeysuckle Coral and Leona Lewis in Peapod Green. Jessica Simpson Debuts Spring 2011 Denim Line

Last night Jessica Simpson showed off her Spring 2011 denim line on her closest friends and family! The show featured 12 of her girlfriends strutting their stuff in Jessica Simpson Collection looks including denim dresses, cuffed shorts and sleek skinnies. The event was DJ’ed by brother-in-law Pete Wentz, and we also spied Simpson’s new boyfriend Eric Johnson there! “Everyone wears denim,” Simpson told us. “It’s amazing to have denim for every size and personality. Like my sister, she’d never wear a denim shirt, but when she paired it with a ruffled mini, she totally rocked it up a bit.” The celebrity designer took a natural approach, dressing her friends in looks that fit their personal style best. “My look is very…girl-next door, plus my favorite color is yellow,” BFF CaCee Cobb said of her sweet bustier.
