Since cropping her long, flowing locks to play Fantine in the movie version of Les Miserables, Anne Hathaway‘s cropped pixie has become the most trending style in Beantown. “A lot of younger clients have been asking for Anne’s layered bob,” Aimee Parco of Anita Kurl Hair Salon in Boston told us. “They’re looking for a short, natural colored ‘do with lots of shine.” Thinking of taking the plunge in the New Year? Stylists suggest bringing a variety of images of exactly what you want–the more detail you give them, the happier you will be with the end result. And don’t be afraid to speak up! Pantone’s 2013 Color of the Year: Emerald!

It’s official—the color authority, Pantone, has announced the top color for 2013 as (drum roll please) Emerald Green! The hue is a lush, recharging shade to follow in the footsteps of 2012’s bright tangerine. “[It is] the most abundant hue in nature—the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, said in a statement. “This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.” The bold hue first hit our radar earlier this fall on the Spring 2013 runways, when designers including Stella McCartney and Chanel gave the the jewel tone a nod. Move over diamonds, emeralds are a girl’s best friend this year!

Gossip Girl Fashion: Jennifer Behr Releases Blair Waldorf Headband Collection

The Gossip Girl series finale is less than two weeks away!
