2011 BAFTA Nominations Announced

Though the Golden Globes are but a memory and the Oscars aren’t until February 27, there are plenty of red carpet events to look forward to in the meantime, including the BAFTA Awards in London. The nominations for the February 13 ceremony, considered by many to be the British equivalent of the Oscars, were announced this morning. Black Swan is a top contender; nominated for Best Film, Best Costume Design, and Best Hair and Makeup, while Golden Globe winner Natalie Portman garnered another Best Actress nod. We’re excited to see that Hailee Steinfeld also landed in the best leading actress category for True Grit, a first for the 14-year-old. And Easy A‘s Emma Stone is nominated for the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award, the only category decided on by a public online vote. (However, only U.K. residents are eligible.) Baby News: Kate Hudson Expecting, Jennifer Connelly Looks Chic

Congrats to Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy, lead singer of Muse, who announced earlier this week that they are expecting a baby, Us Weekly reports. The child will be Hudson’s second. In other baby news, a pregnant Jennifer Connelly nailed maternity style in a black dress and black wrap sandals on the set of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon while promoting her new movie, The Dilemma. Who Will Be Batman’s Next Girlfriend?

Christian Bale is set to reprise his role as Batman in the new movie, Dark Knight Rises when it starts filming in May. But who will be the superhero’s girlfriend? The Golden Globes are this Sunday, and more details about the big day are filtering out. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association just confirmed on its Facebook page that Eva Longoria, January Jones, Julianne Moore, Michelle Pfeiffer, Alicia Keys, Andrew Garfield and Steve Carell will be presenters. They join Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lopez, Leighton Meester, Helen Mirren, Julie Bowen, Kaley Cuoco and more. We can’t wait to see what everyone wears on the red carpet!

The Kardashians Head to Sears

Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian just announced that they will launch a lower-priced label named Kardashian Kollection exclusively at Sears stores in August. The new line will include clothing, lingerie, handbags, wallets, shoes and accessories. This is the latest venture in the long list of the Kardashian sisters’ enterprising projects. Others projects in the Kardashians burgeoning empire include:

• Kardashians by Bebe;
• QVC K-Dash line;
• Fitness DVDs;
• 3 Dash boutiques;
• Reality TV shows (of course);
• Kim’s solo projects: Skechers and Lip Fusion ad campaigns; Perfume; Founder of ShoeDazzle.com; Belle Noel jewelry;
• And now, Sears.
