One Hollywood trend we love? Makeup-free selfies! Heidi Klum, Lupita Nyong’o, Drew Barrymore, and Jessica Alba are just some of the stars who’ve embraced their natural beauty on Instagram (above). And while we can’t all be blessed with rosy cheeks and perfect skin, it’s easy to fake it with pro tips from InStyle Executive Editor Amy Synnott. 1. Prep Skin
If you are, say, Shailene Woodley, perhaps you really do roll out of bed looking like a fresh-faced woodland nymph. For the rest of us, however, a little skin-care subterfuge is in order. Start with a dab or two of a sheer, creamy highlighter, like YSL Touche Éclat ($41; yslbeautyus.com) under your eyes (this brightens up dark circles without leaving a cakey residue). Next, brush on a dimethicone-rich, hydrating primer to instantly (and surreptitiously) blot out pores and wrinkles. Try L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Moisture Blur ($25; lorealparisusa.com).

2. Add Contours
Admittedly, I use the hashtag #nomakeup loosely. For me, this look is about a “less is more” aesthetic, not a literal boycott of the makeup aisle. The key is to tread lightly with color: a dusting of matte bronzer on the angles of the face, a pop of rosy blush (try Nars blush in Sin and Zen, $30 each; narscosmetics.com) on the apples of the cheeks. To define your eyes without mascara, smooth a deep but neutral shade along the lash line, a medium shade in the crease, and a light, shimmery shade on the inner corners of eyes and under the brow bone. 3. Soften Lips
Using a soft, wet washcloth, make gentle circles over lips to remove flaky bits, boost circulation, and infuse your smacker with a natural flush. Apply a balm, like ChapStick Classic Original ($4/3; drugstore.com), press powder blush over it, then blend. Dot pale shimmery eye shadow on the center of the bottom lip and the top of your cupid’s bow to define the shape.
