Leonardo DiCaprio parties with purpose! To raise money for his namesake foundation, which is dedicated to environmental preservation and conservation, the actor threw his foundation’s first-ever annual gala in summer hotspot Saint-Tropez, France, last night. All of DiCaprio’s closest friends came out in support and Jared Leto helped co-host the Julius Baer- and Chopard-sponsored event. (In case you were wondering, Leto wore his long locks down for  the event while Leo rocked Leto’s signature man bun for a total manscaping surprise.)

Selena Gomez arrived with new BFF Cara Delevingne, both wearing Emilio Pucci outfits (pictured below with Leto), (though Gomez later changed into a strapless Christian Dior tulle design), Oscar regular Marion Cotillard stopped by (pictured at top with DiCaprio), Robin Thicke performed, and—expectedly—Leo’s posse of model pals attended, including Natasha Poly, Toni Garrn, and Petra Němcová.

A silent auction got guests bidding. A guitar owned by Bono, who performed “Stand By Me” with Julian Lennon at the fundraiser, sold for $1 million (below). Meanwhile, the art collectors scored: A Picasso went for $1 million and a Damien Hirst sculpture sold for $6 million. Most excitingly, Leo offered two walk-on roles in one of his next films, which sold for a total of $2.4 million.

But it was all for a good cause—by the end of the night in paradise, the foundation had raised $25 million. “We must now make an effort to protect the rich biodiversity that could allow nature to eventually recover,” DiCaprio told the guests. “The good news is there are solutions to these massive problems. Efforts like tonight will start addressing them.” Now that’s one good reason to party with Leo.
