Show someone a Marimekko print and it’s likely to be instantly identified, thanks to its vivid, eye-catching colors and unique playful patterns. It also helps that the brand’s limited edition collection with Banana Republic was wildly popular, with coveted pieces spotted on such street style stars like Jamie Chung and Olivia Palermo. On the heels of one successful collaboration comes another, by way of stationery.
The Finnish design house has partnered with online and paper correspondence brand Paperless Post to create a collection that happily fuses Marimekko’s iconic prints with stationery. The 40-design lineup ranges from personal, customizable stationery to save-the-dates and invites fit for any occasion imaginable (think: summer soirees, kids’ birthdays, and “sangria and spritzer” nights).
“Marimekko’s cheerful colors and bold patterns have been brightening people’s days for over 60 years,” says Minna Kemell-Kutvonen, design director of prints at Marimekko. “We are thrilled that this partnership gives people around the world a special way to share a bit of joy with loved ones.”
