The ad campaign images of the Roland Mouret for Banana Republic collection are out! Starring supermodel Karolina Kurkova and the devilishly handsome designer Roland Mouret, each shot is more seductive than the last. Most importantly, the series serves as a celebration of the female form. It’s a concept that Mouret is all too familiar with from when he designs his figure-flattering creations—pieces that have earned him a huge celebrity following.
“My dresses are more famous than I am,” Mouret quips. “I wanted [the dresses] to be photographed on a girl who will make them more famous than me. Karolina is a great representation of women of our time—she’s a mother, a model, a businesswoman.”
And he’s right: Kurkova already has us coveting the black-and-white design for a number of reasons. It’s both modern and timeless, it’s sensual without being overtly so (read: excessive skin exposure), and its fit is similar to that of a Roland Mouret original (it feels as though “the dress has just been cut for you,” the designer attests).
Other trademark detailing found in the 27-piece capsule collection include leopard print, colorblocking, and graphic perforation, along with the designer’s signature sleek lines and playful proportions. What’s more, each piece is cut from Banana Republic’s “Sloan” fabric, a unique blend of rich, bi-stretch cotton, that Mouret has called out as “the other part of the magic.”
The magic is set to hit Banana Republic stores and bananarepublic.com, exclusively, on Aug. 7 at a price range between $50 and $165.
