It looks like Sarah Jessica Parker has another title she can add to her ever-growing resume: jewelry designer. The multihyphenate has collaborated with fine jewelry designer Cindy Chao on an awe-inspiring brooch named Ballerina Butterfly.
The sixth in Chao’s Masterpiece Butterfly collection, the Ballerina Butterfly brooch is made of titanium and 18-karat gold and weighs in at a whopping 98.09 carats. It is adorned with a 26.27-carat brown diamond, 47.71 carats of brown diamond slices, 7.25 carats of conch pearls, and 4,698 additional diamonds. The duo worked together over the course of two years to perfect the design of the Ballerina Butterfly, which was inspired by Parker’s affiliation with the New York City Ballet.
If you want to get your hands on this one-of-a-kind piece, you’re in luck: It will be auctioned in October at Sotheby’s Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Sale and is expected to go for between $750,000 and $950,000. Net proceeds of the sale will go to the New York City Ballet.
