Katy Perry has a thing for royalty, whether channeling Cleopatra in her music video for “Dark Horse” or concocting her two most recent scents with fragrance powerhouse, Coty. The superstar offered her 5 million plus Instagram followers a peak of the ad campaign for her soon to be launched fragrance, Royal Revolution, saying, “AYO! Today I’m unveiling my new #RoyalRevolution ad! Hope you likey BB’s. Look for it in stores later this summer…”
Judging by the star’s rebellious getup in the ad, this scent will be a slight change from Killer Queen, last year’s more classic scent, which, with the ad’s powdered wigs and ladies-in-waiting, evoked an era more akin to that of Marie Antoinette. As with any project of Perry’s, the blue bottled scent strays from the ordinary, including notes of pink freesia, jasmine, vanilla, orchid, and Wild Blackthorn, a plant once thought to have magical powers. Look for the scent to hit stores this July!
