Chances are you already know drinking the recommended daily amount of H2O has many health benefits. Well, now there are some sartorial perks to hydration as well!
Michelle Obama’s Drink Up initiative, a part of the Partnership for a Healthier America, has teamed up with major designers and retailers like Rebecca Minkoff, J. Crew, and Bloomingdale’s in a unique attempt to encourage everyone to drink more water.
Minkoff designed a beach towel (above, left, $58; rebeccaminkoff.com) that features the slogan “Let’s Meet at the Beach,” and 10 percent of its proceeds goes to Drink Up. For the little ones, pick up the “60% Water” T-shirt (above, right, $25; jcrew.com) from J. Crew’s Crewcuts line—100 percent of the tee’s net proceeds goes to the initiative. Additionally, 34 BCBG and Hervé Leger stores nationwide will feature water bottle displays and Bloomingdale’s will host shopping events to support Drink Up. HSN, Easy Spirit, and Skechers have also partnered with the cause.
“I am thrilled that leaders from across the fashion industry are coming together to help spread Drink Up’s important message to drink more water, more often,” Obama says on the Let’s Move site. “Helping our children make healthy choices is an all-hands-on deck effort, and I applaud the leadership shown by BCBG, Bloomingdale’s, Easy Spirit, HSN, J.Crew, Rebecca Minkoff and Skechers.”
