For the past three years, the Cash & Rocket initiative has sent teams of women prominent in fashion, film, music, art, and business on a 1,400-mile European road trip in 35 vintage sports and luxury cars, including Maseratis and Aston Martins. This year, the all-female tour, which included such drivers as Christina Hendricks, Valentino co-creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, and former Victoria’s Secret Angel Selita Ebanks, traveled from Venice to London via Geneva and Paris from June 5 to June 8 in a fundraiser to benefit three charities that support women and children: Shine on Sierra Leone, Orphan Aid Africa, and Sumbandila.
The charity tour has raised more than $650,000 and Valentino is donating 20 percent of proceeds from a special 12-piece capsule collection that includes ankle boots, sneakers, shorts, a bag, a belt, and a fabulous leather motorcycle jacket, all in the house’s signature red (above) to the organization. The collection is available at Valentino boutiques in London and Paris (prices start at $290) and select items are available on net-a-porter.com.
