Mango-Ginger Smoothie

Does your body need a reboot? We found a yummy cure for sluggish systems with the Mango-Ginger Smoothie.

In our June issue, we looked to the Honeybee Juice Bar in Aspen, Colo., for their recommendation to get us energized. Chef and founder Kate Linehan recommended a sweet-and-spicy exilir to get your juices flowing. “The high vitamin A and C content supports the immune system, and the low glycemic load sustains your energy throughout the day,” she says.

The ingredient list is a bevy of super healthy produce: Nutrient-packed mango and carrot promote clear skin, while fresh ginger and a hint of cayenne stimulate blood flow and digestion.

Want an extra oomph? Add a tablespoon of maca powder ($15, navitasnaturals.com) to your brew. The ancient Peruvian root plant enhances energy and stamina. “It’s the perfect booster,” says Linehan.

Read on for the tasty cure for a sluggish body.
