Chalk up blue and gold to our list of favorite color combos for summer—and we have Jessica Alba to thank. The Honest Company founder and chic mom of two recently attended an event at the Palihotel in L.A. wearing a blue-and-white leopard-print blazer from Anthropologie (with matching blue eye shadow to boot) and adorned herself with a gilded necklace by TomTom, cleverly layered over her go-to Jennifer Meyer nameplate chain (engraved with her daughters’ names, Honor and Haven, and a heart in between).
But it was the sculptural TomTom pendant in particular that caught our eye. The L.A. brand founded by Elena Howell, a former architect, uses complex digital fabrication techniques to create uniquely shaped pieces. Its 18-karat gold-plated bronze necklace (above, right) was modeled after a rope and designed using 3D software: First, it was 3D printed out of wax, then cast into bronze, and then hand-polished and plated. “My goal was to take the soft form of a rope and subvert it into hard angles and geometric shapes,” Howell told InStyle.com. Talk about a statement piece!
