When it comes to weddings, organization is key, and with technology tools, a website can be an integral part of your planning arsenal. It’s the one-stop shop where guests can find all those wedding details that wouldn’t fit on the invitations, like directions or registry information. And they’ve virtually eliminated the need for those pesky RSVP card inserts. But there is one nagging problem: Many wedding websites could use a lot of work in the looks department.
Enter Riley & Grey, a new wedding website company whose designs are fresh and modern. Chief executive Marissa Gibbons, one of the site’s five co-founders, says the idea came about when she was planning her own wedding. “I wished I had had more fashion-y inspiration than what you see in the wedding industry,” she says. “If you are more fashion-focused, you want a little more editorial vibe—more black-and-white.” Riley & Grey steps outside the bridal box with templates and an inspiration blog that includes runway designs, home décor and environmental design (plus a few wedding photos). On a recent browse, the Signature template had a classically elegant retro vibe while Olive was more on the rustic side.
Besides, all of the templates are limited-edition, which ensures they’re always fresh. And if there is something you’d like to customize, Riley & Grey has customer service specialists on hand to help you. “We try to make the experience feel as bespoke as possible without being 100 percent bespoke,” Gibbons says. Up next? The company has plans to create one-of-a-kind wedding stationery sets that match the website templates.
You can access Riley & Grey wedding websites from your computer, tablet and phone; prices range from $35 per month to $240 a year. The best part? You can design your site and then make a commitment so you can see how the finished product will look before paying.
