Everyone knows no-downtime cosmetic procedures are becoming more commonplace, but what’s interesting is the recent spike in the number of men flocking to their dermatologists to get Botox and fillers. Manhattan dermatologist David Colbert says that a solid 25 percent of his patients who seek cosmetic treatment are men—up from 15 percent just a year ago.

Dr. Colbert—who treats some of the sexiest faces in the business (from designer Nate Berkus to Russell Crowe and Daniel Craig)—says, “There has been a very significant sea change in how men approach aging. They think some wrinkles are OK but when they see their grandfather peeking through, they slam on the aging brakes and give in to Botox and some fillers.”

According to a report published by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, there has been a greater increase in the number of men seeking Botox injections from 1997 to 2010 than women. Still, Dr. Colbert says, “Men never want to look ‘done’ and they won’t be having Botox parties anytime soon. Men want to keep it private.”

They’re also taking better care of their skin at an earlier age. Craig and actor Kyle MacLachlan are fans of his skincare line, ColbertMD. “They see this as a 401K for their skin,” Dr. Colbert says.
