The menswear trend has become completely engrained in the way women dress. Even the ultra-feminine can find something appealing in mixing in a loafer, a trench, or a well cut topper coat.

Yes, the full suit can prove a bit difficult to master, but it can be done! We first saw this amazing YSL plaid on the spring runway, and Emma Stone’s subtle tweaks have made this look incredibly enviable.

In order to really nail this look, you’ll need to take note of the following tips:

1. Three’s a crowd.
More then two menswear pieces can get too heavy. Lighten it up with a sleek pump, envelope clutch, and a softer billowy white button down.

2. Keep your makeup neutral.
There can be a harshness in wearing these types of cuts and fabrics, but the easy addition of a neutral lip and nail, along with a few delicate rings, will help to make the look more feminine.

3. Lastly, and most importantly, is tailoring.
If you choose a suit with a slimmer cut leg that hits at the ankle, it works perfectly with a heel. You can make it more informal by styling it with a pointed d’Orsay in a rich sold like burgundy or blue, or even a minimal slip on sneaker in white or cream.

The best part of buying a full suit is that you get to break it up and mix in your other pieces when you don’t feel like wearing the whole thing.
