Calling all Kate Middleton fashion fanatics! The Duchess’ favorite British label Hobbs London is hopping across the pond and landing in a Bloomingdale’s near you, as early as this week. Judging from the brand’s successful U.S. e-commerce launch last year, it was clear there was a market for the British goods (also known as the “Kate Middleton Effect”). The line launched in New York earlier in the week, and will be found in select Bloomingdale’s locations sprinkled along the East Coast in April.
Hobbs’ aesthetic, described as “luxury fabrications, contemporary tailoring and elegant daywear—all with an intelligent British twist,” is very much in line with Middleton’s style. But it’s not just the brand’s royal fan base that makes it so appealing. It’s also the affordable price point. During her Olympic visit in 2012, Middleton wore an elegant gray-and-white print Hobbs “Check Wessex” dress (pictured, above) that totaled—wait for it—$58.
Be sure to shop the dresses, but don’t forget about the coats. Last year, the then-expectant Duchess chose a Dalmatian-print Hobbs coat for her last official outing, which sold out in minutes. And most recently, she stepped out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in a pine green wool Hobbs trench that’s also now sold out.
