For true fashionistas, packing for Austin’s SXSW festival — where the main wardrobe staple is an oversized tee — can be a challenge. Game of Thrones Gwendoline Christie came prepared for battle, not with a sword but with enough designer duds to cloth a small army.

“I brought four pairs of Christian Louboutin heels, one pair of Fendi heels, and one pair of Prada flats,” says Christie, who admitted with a laugh she was only in town for 24 hours.

Usually seen donning a coat of armor as Brienne of Tarth, the Londoner literally sparkled at HBO’s Game of Thrones Experience kick-off party in a red sequined dress by Joseph. The festival-only exhibit fills a large space in Austin’s Music Hall, and shows off costumes and props from the series, which begins its fourth season April 6. “It’s like being immersed into the world of Games of Thrones. I’m overwhelmed,” Christie tells us, looking around at all the paraphernalia.

And what can we expect of her character Brienne’s continuing adventures this season? “It’s going to be very exciting, indeed,” she teases.
