Get Well-Dressed Walls With Maison Martin Margiela’s New WallpaperFeb 21, 2014 @ 3:34 pm
Dreams do come true — decking your walls Maison Martin Margiela‘s signature design aesthetic is now possible. The French fashion house is set to launch a collection of wallpaper with Omexco, a Belgian luxury wall coverings manufacturer. The influential and sought after style of the Margiela brand comes through in the designs, blending avant-garde ideals with classic tastes, much like the label’s garments. Margiela is known for reinterpreting objects of all forms and sizes, while deconstructing shape and volume to craft one-of-kind creations.
Based on multiple motifs, the line features emblematic Margiela prints, oversized patterns, and varied textures. The collection finds inspiration in a variety of places, and includes five design themes with several color offerings for each. Patterns vary from soft to bold, including a floral print inspired by classic cross-stitching, as well as the rough reproduction of a Tuscan limestone found at a flea market. The other three themes are a geometric marble mosaic print, a trompe l’oeil of a typical Margiela pattern, and a deformed herringbone motif with an optical illusion. The wallpaper collection will be available at the end of April, in over 3,000 design stores worldwide. Check out the full collection on omexco.be and start planning your own fashion-forward wall makeover.
