Got a thing for shearling? It appears the designers of New York Fashion Week do as well — they were heavy-handed with the wooly textile for fall/winter 2014, lining (or in some cases, covering) accessories in addition to their usual outerwear pieces. The Rag & Bone designing twosome Marcus Wainwright and David Neville kicked up their footwear game to newer and warmer heights with shearling on the inside and outside of their runway booties.

Stuart Vevers of Coach had the same idea with shearling-lined no-nonsense boots, but what stole our hearts was the cross-body purse blanketed in the cozy material. It could probably double as a pillow (we guess we’ll have to try it out ourselves—stay tuned). Tory Burch didn’t take it as far as Vevers, but instead chose to add just a touch, just a charming hint of shearling to her purses. Move over knits, because you’ve got competition with shearling as the hottest cool-weather textile in town.
