Philip Seymour Hoffman, you will be missed. The legendary actor has died today in New York City at the age of 46. “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Phil and appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone. This is a tragic and sudden loss and we ask that you respect our privacy during this time of grieving,” his family said in a statement, according to people.com. “Please keep Phil in your thoughts and prayers.” Famous for his incredible range, Hoffman was known for his standout roles in The Big Lebowski, Charlie Wilson’s War, Almost Famous, and The Hunger Games to name a few. The news of his passing was felt among his colleagues, co-stars, friends, and fans in Hollywood, with many of them taking to Twitter to express their condolences. Scroll down to see how each star reacted.
No surprise here—Jessica Alba looked pretty perfect (as usual) as she braved the New York City cold in a bundled-up ensemble, expertly pairing her coat over a fur layer and adding winter-appropriate accessories. But it was her pair of moto-inspired jeans that had us doing a double-take. In lieu of biker-like seams, a smattering of studs took their place, adding a subtle hint of glint at the knees.
Inject some glam to your winter wardrobe with your own pair of studded Fidelity Denim “Trixies” from boutiquetoyou.com for $196 (on sale, marked down from $280). Let some unexpected shine peek over knee-high boots, like Alba, or give the studs some breathing room with booties or heels. Either way, these revved-up jeans deserve to be in the spotlight.

Exclusively to InStyle.com, Felican-Torres explains, “This gave me an opportunity to create a polished, yet chic work outfit without looking too conservative. I was truly inspired by the fact that it was business appropriate, but i still was able to add my own twist by adding animal print underneath a sweater and bringing in a faux fur clutch as an accent piece to the sleek pencil skirt.” Get inspired by more InStyle readers we ♥ in our gallery.

It’s hard to believe Christie Brinkley is 60-years-old today, especially when she looks the way that she does! The supermodel and mother of three—Alexa Ray Joel, 28, Jack, 18, and Sailor Brinkley-Cook, 15—is proving that age is just a number and yes, you do get better with age. The original “Uptown Girl” and former Broadway star—how could we forget her Roxie Hart days—is dipping her toes back in the modeling pool thanks to her new deal with IMG Models, where she signed on with her daughter Sailor. As for her side projects, Brinkley is showing no signs of slowing down given her line of Hair2Wear extensions and skin care collection, CBBeauty, launching soon. Not bad for 60!
To celebrate Brinkley’s sixth decade, look at some of our favorite supermodels from then to now in our gallery!
