The Golden Globes is all about celebrating the best in movie and television, but for us, it’s a night that awards the best in dresses as well. In honor of one of Hollywood’s biggest nights (it’s happening this weekend!), we chose our favorite gowns that have graced the red carpet over the years. In 2011, then-newcomer Emma Stone wore a stunning backless peach Calvin Klein Collection gown that officially put her on the style map. The same year, Angelina Jolie strayed from her go-to black and stood out in a gorgeous glittering emerald Atelier Versace gown. Just last year, Claire Danes shocked onlookers as she showed off her post-baby bod (just one month after giving birth) in a red-hot Versace gown. From 1962 to the present, see the parade of gowns that have proven they can withstand the test of time.
