The Now-Famous Faces of Miss (and Mr!) Golden GlobeJan 8, 2014 @ 9:37 am
Since 1963, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association — the organization responsible for the always-glamorous Golden Globes — names a Miss (or Mr!) Golden Globe, an honor bestowed on celebrity offspring where they assist the stars in presenting award-winners with the golden statues.
This year’s lucky lady is Sosie Bacon, the 21-year-old daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, who — not surprisingly — wants to pursue a career in acting. “I’m really looking forward to the next few months,” she told the HFPA upon her nomination. “I go back and forth between New York and L.A. and I’ve been auditioning pretty much non-stop… dramatic roles, some comedy — everything.”
While being named Miss or Mr. Golden Globe can be seen as a coming-out party of sorts in Tinseltown, it doesn’t exactly guarantee a path to stardom. It did, however, for a handful of stars, including (pictured, from left to right) Laura Dern, Francesca Eastwood, and Melanie Griffith, who even occasionally go on to accept their own Golden Globe statue. We hope to see Sosie do the same sometime soon!
