Could they be any more adorable?! Taylor Swift and Hailee Steinfeld were certainly in the holiday spirit yesterday, as the two got together to bake cookies, exchange gifts, and partake in various other Christmas-time activities. Lucky for us, the stars decided to share their merriment with us on Instagram. Taylor shared this photo of her, Hailee, and several mini trees with the caption reading, ”Merry Swiftmas and Hailee New Year” as well as one of Hailee leaning over a batch of freshly-baked cookies titled, ”It’s not possible for her to be cuter or for this day to be more festive.” Hailee posted her own picture of the friends wearing the trimmings from their holiday presents captioned, “That moment when the ribbon from your gift becomes a hair accessory…” We have to admit that these besties are all too cute!
Marc Jacobs has already bid adieu to his 16-year tenure at Louis Vuitton, but the designer left us with one final farewell in the form of an ad campaign for the French fashion house’s spring 2014 collection. Louis Vuitton’s just-released ads feature an all-star cast of Jacobs’ muses like Gisele Bündchen, Sofia Coppola, and Catherine Deneuve, making the campaign feel very personal. Each has a long-standing relationship with the brand—Coppola designed the SC bag in 2009 and has collaborated with Louis Vuitton on designing store windows, and both Denueve and Bündchen have appeared in the brand’s ads in the past. Fan Bingbing, Caroline de Maigret, and Edie Campbell also star in the campaign.
The gorgeous portraits were shot by Steven Meisel on a simple studio backdrop and in a restrained color palette to focus the spotlight on the personality of each woman. Appearing in Jacobs’ final ready-to-wear collection for Louis Vuitton, they posed with a variation of the brand’s Nouveau Noé bag, an update to an iconic 1932 style designed by Gaston-Louis Vuitton to carry five bottles of champagne. “Just as Marc Jacobs’ valedictory show was intended as a celebration, so this, his final campaign for Louis Vuitton, offers a vibrant homage to women and to enduring style,” the brand said. We have to say, this is one power statement and an incredible final hurrah for Jacobs!
Confession: We’re addicted to Zac Posen’s Instagram. Amid the frothy floor-sweeping red carpet creations, the designer sprinkles in another kind of creation—from his kitchen. Week after week, the chef whips up drool-worthy dishes, from festive Christmas almond lavender pound cake to savory quinoa and vegetable stir-fry. Even though we wish we were #cookingwithzac, the least we can do is emulate his flair. So, we tapped into the mind of the master himself for holiday entertaining tips and tricks. Find out how he makes guests feel at home, his number one tip for hosting and more:
CoverGirl is launching a new mascara and it’s quite the bombshell: Bombshell Lash Blast ($11.99 at covergirl.com) is a two-step system that combines extreme volume with an intensifying top coat for big, sexy lashes. The product already has a fan in Sofia Vergara, who spoke to InStyle.com exclusively about why she loves it, her secret to feeling sexy, and what she has in common with her Modern Family character Gloria.
For every pair of aviator sunglasses and plaid, there’s bound to be fur and a navel-grazing neckline close by; welcome to the ’70s. American Hustle (out in theaters now) sweeps us back to the glitzy decade where over-the-top glamour and slick swagger reign supreme. The film follows con-artist Irving (Christian Bale), his lover-slash-partner-in-crime Sydney (Amy Adams), his wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence), and FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper), in a story where deceit, scandal, and romance ensue. The plot is good and all, but it’s the heady dose of vintage fashion that also caught our attention. From leather-on-leather to slinky white gowns, get your vixen fix and copy their sexy on-screen style.
Britney Spears is no stranger to the platinum end of the spectrum — of her eight albums, seven of them have received the certification, and now her strands are following suit. The star revealed her pale blonde hue on Instagram, a change that may have happened for her upcoming residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, which is set to start on the 27th. Although her hair and makeup are always on point, when it comes to beauty, Britney admits that she’s more complexion-obsessed. “I’m more of a skin-care girl. I’m obsessed because of my mom, that’s what she totally believes in,” she told us in our January issue. “I also love face creams. I have no problems trying new brands.” What do you think of her new look? Tell us in the comments below!
