New styles for a new collection! As Temperley Bridal‘s largest line-up to date, Iris 2014/15 boasts a well-rounded tally of 14 bridal looks with daring new silhouettes that celebrate the female form and radiate with the fine craftsmanship that the English brand is known for. ”There is a full range of different styles, for different body shapes in Iris, all designed with the aesthetic I believe in; elegant, feminine, ethereal and timeless,” designer Alice Temperley MBE said in a statement. “Each dress has to be the perfect blend of functionality and fantasy.” In doing so, Temperley covered unfamiliar ground, revealing looks that break free from traditional wedding gowns, including a ’70s-inspired jumpsuit, a voluminous evening swing coat with ruffled silk organza roses and petals, and a floor-length chiffon kaftan. Straight From Nashville’s Costume Designer, Susie DeSanto, All The Fashion Details From Season 2, Episode 4Oct 17, 2013 @ 7:45 pm
Last night’s episode of Nashville was full of high stakes drama for our favorite country stars—and they had wardrobes to match! InStyle hopped on the phone with costume designer Susie DeSanto for an exclusive catch up on our favorite looks. Right off the bat this week Scarlett (Clare Bowen) tried something new for her first photo shoot, even adding pink extensions to her golden locks. “That’s an idea that Clare has been flirting with for awhile, just to be kind of outrageous, something she would never do. You will see as the season goes on Clare and I have been playing around with some of those 90s/80s things that are creeping back into fashion,” DeSanto told InStyle. But, no one could ignore Rayna (Connie Britton) in her Monique Lhuillier gown, “one thing I loved about the print of that dress, it looks like a tumultuous ocean, and her life is a tumultuous ocean so it worked as a metaphor for what she was going through in the episode.” Click through the gallery to see more looks from the episode and make sure to tune in to Nashville on Wednesdays 10/9c on ABC.
It’s easy to forget that Orlando Bloom was only 21 when he landed the role of the beached-blond pinup elf Legolas in 2001′s epic The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, a vehicle that made him, for a time anyway, one of the world’s biggest movie stars. What followed was a succession of leading-man turns, mostly in period and fantasy films (Pirates of the Caribbean, Troy), that further cemented his status as Hollywood’s ubiquitous of-another-era heartthrob. “I was definitely aware of being too visible, and I felt I was too visible,” says Bloom of his breakneck ascent. “Who doesn’t get bored of seeing somebody over and over? It’s like, ‘That guy again?’” It turns out that taking what some might call a career breather (or at least smaller roles in smaller movies like New York, I Love You) in recent years has been a savvy move. Bloom, now 36, has a model wife (literally), Miranda Kerr, a 2-year-old son named Flynn, and the lead in a five-month run of Romeo and Juliet, currently on Broadway. “I’m probably good for Romeo because I’m still a little innocent,” admits Bloom. “I’m just on the right side of not being jaded.” Read an excerpt of the exclusive interview below and for more, turn to page 348 of the November issue, available on newsstands, or download it for your tablet, this Friday, October 18th.
Are you into fashion?
This is crazy, but part of me thinks that, as a man, you shouldn’t really be thinking too much about what you wear. I’m weirdly a throwback to the old generation. In my mind it’s not appropriate for me to talk about fashion, and yet I really appreciate good cuts of clothes. So I’m a little bit conflicted in how to answer your question, but I will tell you that a Saint Laurent suit fits me great. And I love Dior and Margiela. I’m pretty blessed actually, because a lot of the designers’ clothes seem to fit me quite well.
You may not be a fashionista, but you married Miranda, who does have impeccable style.
She does dress well. I love the way she dresses.
What kind of influence does she have over your look?
She’ll only say something if she doesn’t like it. But otherwise she’s pretty low-key, especially since we are constantly on the go, always traveling.
Where is home?
Flynn is not in school yet, so we’re still pretty loosey-goosey. We’re a bit of a traveling circus. She flies somewhere for work; I take of care of Flynn. Or, you know, we’re together, and we just make it work. We’re not conventional in any way, shape, or form.

In sharp contrast to their corporate sisters, creative types steer clear of anything that even hints at a uniform. “For one of my early interviews I think I turned the woman off because I arrived in a full suit,” says designer Nanette Lepore. “It completely sent the wrong message, and the interview just fell flat.” People in this field pride themselves on thinking outside the box and having their fingers on the pulse of what’s new and hip, so your colleagues will expect you to dress in a way that showcases your personality. That might translate to vibrant hues or unique cuts. “I usually shy away from anything too basic,” says Rebecca Minkoff. “I love a blazer, but not a typical one. Look for a twist, like an unexpected color or even a relaxed lapel—something that sets you apart from everyone else.”
Dressing to land your dream job is always nerve-racking, but it may be even more so in an industry that champions free thinking. “Own your look, but make sure it’s appropriate for the position you’re applying for,” says designer Lepore, who warns against wearing controversial clothing like fur. Do your research beforehand, suggests Ken Downing, fashion director of Neiman Marcus. “Pull up the company Web site and search for images of people who work there.”

God’s Love We Deliver Hosts Its 2013 Golden Heart Awards with Karlie Kloss, Michael Kors, Jennifer Hudson and MoreOct 17, 2013 @ 2:47 pm
Out to celebrate a good cause, Spring Studios in downtown New York City was abuzz at the God’s Love We Deliver 2013 Golden Heart Awards Celebration Wednesday night. “God’s Love We Deliver has an immediate impact and you see the results immediately. It has such a huge heart behind it,” Julianna Margulies told InStyle.com at the event. “This charity is about helping people.” God’s Love We Deliver is New York City’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illness, and cooks and delivers specific, nutritious meals tailored to each person it serves. Last night’s event was held to celebrate those who have dedicated themselves to the cause and raise funds to benefit the organization, with guests like Jennifer Hudson, Hilary Swank, Karlie Kloss, Olivia Munn, Doutzen Kroes, and Iman helping to honor Hillary Clinton, Aerin Lauder, Jeff Gates, and Mike Moran for their work in fighting hunger. The former Secretary of State was presented with the first-ever Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service, which was presented to Clinton by Michael Kors himself, who serves as a member of the organization’s board. The venue was packed full of guests, many admiring the years of work Kors has done for God’s Love We Deliver. “He’s a powerful man, and to take that power and to bless other people from his blessings, that’s powerful and I love that,” Hudson stated. The evening featured a welcome by Bette Midler, cocktails, dinner, an awards presentation and a live auction, which raised over $3 million for God’s Love We Deliver—a record-setting evening in the charity’s 28-year history. Munn spoke to the importance of such an organization: “This is a major human issue to be concerned about. We need to focus on organizations like God’s Love We Deliver.”
