3 Fuchsia Lipsticks Inspired by Princess Charlene’s Bold (and Not-So-Princessy) ShadeOct 3, 2013 @ 2:15 pm
The Louis Vuitton show at Paris Fashion Week certainly didn’t lack in terms of drama, but one of the biggest statements we’re eager to recreate is straight from the front row — Princess Charlene‘s bold lip! While purple is a color associated with royalty, the day-glo hue is a first for Wittstock, and we love how it stands out against fall’s palette of subdued makeup tones. Inspired by Charlene, we searched our beauty closet to find a trio of bright lipsticks to recreate her look. We’re obsessed with the ultra-bright Fuchsia In Rage by YSL ($34; yslbeauty-us.com) and Lancome’s Rouge in Love Lipstick in Violet Coquette ($26; lancome-usa.com), but if you’re intimidated by color, the deeper tone of MAC’s Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Midnight Mambo ($22; maccosmetics.com) is the perfect middle-ground between a seasonal burgundy and an amped-up amethyst. We recommend applying the product with a brush to form a precise shape, then trace the edges of your lip with a concealer to clean up any unexpected smudges.
