Congratulations are in order for Zoe Saldana! The Star Trek into Darkness actress tied the knot to Italian soccer star and artist Marco Perego and it happened back in June. The news recently broke that Saldana secretly wed her beau—both 35-years-old—in a small, private ceremony outside of London surrounded by their family and friends. The couple reportedly have known each other for quite some time and started dating back in May. These quiet celebrity marriages are certainly becoming a trend, especially with the recently surprise nuptials of Scandal actress Kerry Washington and her now husband, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Nnamdi Asomugha back in July. And Kate Winslet’s intimate New York City marriage to Ned Rocknroll took a few weeks to leak out to the press in December of 2012. So tell us, what do you think of these Hollywood’s secret marriages?

She’s played damsels, super heroes and love interests. But Jessica Alba‘s latest role will put her on a new screen: your monitor. Named Piperlime’s newest guest editor (other editors include Rachel Zoe and Olivia Palermo), the actress celebrated the gig at the site’s SoHo store last night with cocktails, music and racks of clothes from which to shop. But don’t think Alba’s constantly in a fitting room. “I’m not so into shopping all the time because I hate trying clothes on,” the actress admitted to InStyle.com during an intimate group interview pre-bash. “But I love putting together outfits. I’ve been doing it since I was little.” And while Alba’s style has gone through the ’90s fads (baby tees, crop tops and more, she told reporters), she’s proud of its progress. “It’s not as embarrassing as it used to be,” she said. “I feel like I’m a lot more like funky. I’m not as self-conscious.” It’s that hard-earned confidence she’ll take to Piperlime this season as she doles out style advice and curates her favorites. “My expectations are really low!” Alba joked on what she hopes she’ll bring. “It’s just really fun!”

To be honest, we find the idea of age-appropriate dressing quite boring. Indeed, we agree that most women past the age of 16 probably shouldn’t wear certain things (One Direction T-Shirts, for example), but to tell a women she shouldn’t wear a miniskirt or a pair of leggings because she’s over 40 is ludicrous. Well, instead of going on a long preachy rant about what age-appropriate clothing really means, and ways to embrace personal style at any age, we’ve decided to show you the 50 most stylish older women we can think of—from 42 to 92—who are rocking the world with their fashion choices. Take a look!
Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, the masterminds behind Marchesa‘s ethereal creations, didn’t disappoint when they showed a parade of decadent spring/summer 2014 eveningwear that involved exquisite lace detailing, swinging pearl layers, handpainted florals, and delicious silk organza fabrics. While the duo called out specific decades that served as inspiration, like the 1920s, ’30s and ’50s, there was definitely a moodier, cool-girl attitude at play. Butterfly and rose “tattoos” (seen on models’ necks, arms, decolletage and backs), deep plum lips, and feathery black hair extensions all clearly (and playfully) offset the usual fanciful numbers. Hmm, will gothic romanticism hit the red carpet? We hope so!

It’s not just for ’80s theme parties anymore! Models at The Blonds, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Badgley Mischka, and Zang Toi took the runway in gorgeous blue shadows that ranged from deep cobalt to sheer seafoam. While The Blonds went for the most dramatic finish, pairing the bold color with winged-out liner and a red lip, the rest of the looks balanced the effect by keeping the rest of the makeup light and airy. We especially loved Zang Toi’s subtle periwinkle liner, and Badgley Mischka’s translucent shadow. “I wanted the colors to be very see-through,” Badgley Mischka’s lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux told us before the show. “The entire eyelid is covered with a transparent blue-aqua color, and we kept it very sheer. I wanted to be able to see the skin underneath the eye shadow.” If you’re eager to try the trend, make sure to keep the rest of your makeup in neutral tones, and go easy on the liner and mascara. Too many vivid hues can create a busy effect, and while we love Dynasty-era Joan Collins and her overly glam makeup, we think the drama is best left onscreen.
