J. Crew’s Tom Mora (Head of Women’s Design) gave us styles inspired by beach culture at the brands New York Fashion Week presentation, and to anchor each look? Sophia Webster for J.Crew shoes. Each pair feels very Sophia Webster-esque with their whimsicality but manages to stay true to J.Crew’s aesthetic, which left us wondering how this chic collab came to life. So we caught up with Tom Mora who told InStyle.com exclusively: “We met with her and she loved the idea. We picked styles that we thought were appropriate for J.Crew, which was a lot because they’re all so beautiful, we worked with her on fabrics that are in the collection, she sent over sketches, and we went from there. When the shoes came in, we were all like oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!! It was phenomenal.”
