For the past few weeks, Lily Collins has been on our radar for the amazing sartorial choices she turns out premiere after premiere for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. We’re loving her ladylike edge, not to mention the dark lip and sleek hairstyles she often pairs with each look. From crop tops to cut-outs, Collins has taken on some of summer’s biggest trends and solidified herself as a style star. At Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego, she paired a crop top with high-waisted shorts by Paper London, while her bold, fitted Versace number made for a sleek, fashion-forward ensemble in New York City. We also loved the cut-out Cushnie et Ochs dress she wore in Los Angeles, and the bustled Stella McCartney minidress she chose for a London event. Now that’s one way to get us excited for the upcoming season of Revenge! After watching the promo for the show’s third season above, so many questions ran through our minds. Who shot Emily Thorne? Will she bounce back, or is this the end? And most importantly — was that a wedding dress she had on? We were too eager to wait for the premiere on September 29 to find out, so we just had to call up costume designer Jill Ohanneson to get all the details on the dress. Her secret for finding the perfect one? Design it herself. “After hearing about what would happen, the dress required so many elements that I knew we weren’t going to find any one piece that would do everything we needed, and since we had three weeks of prep time at the beginning, I found the fabric, did three or four sketches, and designed it myself,” she told InStyle.com exclusively. “I know Emily likes very slim silhouettes, but I also knew the producers and directors wanted the fabric to float around her when she fell into the water. To make that happen, I started with a slim silhouette and built around it with tulle, since it’s lightweight and floats well.” The climax of the preview — i.e. where Emily gets shot — was another factor that pushed Ohanneson to personally design the dress, as multiple versions were needed. “To go out and buy four wedding dresses would have been too costly, especially to get something worthy of Emily Thorne’s taste,” she added. “We ended up making four gowns — we kept one perfect, we had to build one for a stunt girl, and we made two more that can take the blood hits. We saved the original since we’d have to shoot a wedding down the line.” Our minds are racing with the possibilities! Scroll down to see an exclusive sketch of the entire dress, then find out what happens on the season three premiere of Revenge, September 29 at 9 PM EST on ABC.

Bebe launched its new fall #be9to5 campaign featuring model Nina Agdal at the Provocateur club in New York City last night, and the model’s friends Katrina Bowden and Coco Rocha joined to celebrate their pal while donning their very own Bebe looks. “It’s always good to come out for your fellow fashionistas,” Rocha told InStyle.com. “I had a long day at work, so it’s nice.” And that’s just what the new collection is all about—it celebrates the Bebe women who love to go out and live the 9 p.m. to 5 a.m lifestyle. Bowden and her musician husband, Ben Jorgensen of Armor for Sleep, are already fans. “My husband loves Bebe, so whenever I go he’s like, ‘I need to go with you and go shopping, and tell you what I want you to wear.’ He loves it!” Click the photo to see more of this week’s star-filled fetes.
Sisters Penélope and Monica Cruz reveal their sultry sides with L’Agent, a robust line of exquisite underpinnings. In collaboration with luxury lingerie label Agent Provocateur, the designing duo created 128 pieces grouped in five distinct moods that stay true to the brand’s saucy roots. The siblings even dipped into its coveted archives and put their personal touch on vintage styles. “Monica gravitated toward leopard prints, while Penélope loves red,” says creative director Sarah Shotton (above, right). “The collection plays up the beauty of all women—young, old, curvy, or thin,” says Penélope. “There’s something for everyone.” Click through to see pieces from the collection, then shop the playful and sexy line barenecessities.com.
A fashion designer, Hollywood’s go-to stylist, and the main event in her namesake TV show, Rachel Zoe (which she recently admitted that she does not anticipate signing on for a sixth season) ”dies” for the minimalist décor in her Beverly Hills abode—and manages to keep it sophisticated even when creating a cozy room for her 2-year-old, Skyler, who (natch!) gets a dream walk-in closet all his own. For InStyle‘s September issue, photographer Dean Kaufman gave us an inside look at the family’s abode in Beverly Hills, and we learned a few great tips from the stylist on how you can make your home just as chic as Zoe herself. 1. SWITCH ON THE LAMPS ONLY WHEN IT’S NIGHTTIME.
“My home has to feel airy and bright with natural light. I don’t switch on lamps until it is literally black outside. Rodger calls me a cavewoman!”
2. PLAY WITH ACCENTS
“I had fun with the accents, which is similar to my approach to getting dressed. My basics are black, white, or neutral, and I’ll wear a ton of jewelry or carry a brightly colored bag. So here I played with throws, pillows, rugs, and ceramics.”
3. VISIBILITY IS KEY IN ORGANIZING CLOSETS FOR A GROWN-UP OR A CHILD
“Visibility is key, with compartments and boxes so that everything has its place.”
