Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller joined director James Ponsoldt at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City for a screening of their new movie, The Spectacular Now. The film is coming-of-age story based off of Tim Tharp’s bestselling novel, and tells the story of Sutter Keely (Teller), a hard-partying popular teenage boy, who falls in love with Aimee Finicky (Woodley), a nerdy girl outside of his crowd. “It’s very human. It’s very truthful and honest,” Woodley told InStyle.com at the Sundance Film Festival. “I think that this film explores what it’s like to be an adolescent today, and I don’t think it’s necessarily for teenagers. I think it’s more of a movie for adults. It explores very realistic things.” Already garnering buzz after a well-received Sundance debut — both Woodley and Teller received special jury prizes for their performances — the film is shaping up to be one of summer’s must-see movies. Click here to watch the trailer, and be sure to catch The Spectacular Now when it opens nationwide, Friday, August 2.

Now that Kate Middleton‘s a mom, we can’t wait to see if she’ll change up her look. But as any new mom knows, the first couple months are the toughest since maternity pieces are baggy and pre-pregnancy clothing is still too small. So we asked celebrity stylist Estee Stanley what advice she’d give to Kate if the Duchess were her client. To avoid buying a “transition” wardrobe, Stanley suggests getting some key pieces tailored. “I would bring everything to alterations that she had custom made by Alexander McQueen while she was pregnant and take them in,” said the star stylist, who dresses Lea Michele and Jessica Biel. A perfect option? The pastel pink McQueen coat she wore in June to the annual Trooping of the Colour parade in London. “I don’t like to waste, so I would reuse those because all of the pieces were great!” To create a slimmer silhouette, Stanley would dress Kate in a lot of black, vertical stripes and empire-waisted looks (like the Jenny Packham blue polka dot dress she wore when leaving the hospital). And on one of those days where the Duchess wants to feel a bit more relaxed, Stanley loves a loose caftan. “I’m obsessed with them! You can never go wrong with an amazing printed caftan or even a basic solid colored one.” It’s hard to imagine the Duchess going for a flowy caftan, but if she were to choose one, we’d put bets on this colorful silk-chiffon look from her go-to-designer: Issa. What do you think?

We first fell in love with Aubrey Plaza as the deadpanning apathetic April Ludgate to Amy Poehler’s chirpy Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation, but with her new starring role in The To Do List, she’s getting a little more glam than you’ve ever seen her in Pawnee. The film takes place in 1993 — so keep an eye out for scrunchies, skorts and shoulder pads — and Plaza stars as Brandy Klark, the valedictorian and virgin of her Boise, Idaho high school who resolves to experience as much as she can before she leaves for college by completing items on her raunchy To Do List (ahem, hickies are the tamest thing on it). With her sister Amber helping her out — the fabulous Rachel Bilson — Plaza’s type-A Klark sets out to check off the items. Along the way, she meets local musician and lifeguard Rusty Waters, played by Scott Porter, who had to give his hair the ‘90s treatment for the film. Luckily, it wasn’t permanent. “I was thrilled I was going to have the wig in the movie because I was so frightened of all these great comedic actors and the wig just helped me out,” Porter told reporters at the Los Angeles premiere. Click here to watch the trailer — it’s in theaters nationwide starting Friday, July 26.

Glee’s Dianna Agron Teams With the Somaly Mam Foundation to Stop Trafficking (And How You Can Help, Too)Jul 26, 2013 @ 11:57 am
These days it seems every celebrity has an online presence, whether they’re sending selfies of a haircut into cyberspace or tweeting about a just-wrapped movie. But Dianna Agron uses social media in a truly inspired way. On her blog, You, Me & Charlie (one of Agron’s nicknames), the actress promotes emerging artists, and for her birthday, fans rally to give to her favorite charities. (Followers have raised more than $18,000 for organizations like GLAAD and the Trevor Project.) Now she’s trumpeting another worthy endeavor: Somaly Mam Foundation. Led by its co-founder, Somaly Mam, who as a girl survived years of forced prostitution, SMF works with governments to bring an end to the global sex trade while financially supporting other programs that run medical clinics and recovery centers and send outreach workers into brothels. Last winter Agron toured two of the shelters to see their good works for herself. The experience left her with one question: What more can I do to help? Scroll down for the exclusive interview with Agron and find out how you can help, too. For more, turn to page 73 of the recent issue, now available on newsstands or downloadable for your tablet. More
