The music industry gathered in Los Angeles for a weekend filled with festivities in honor of the 2013 BET Awards! White House Down co-stars Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum helped kick-off the celebrations at the three-day BET Experience concert at the L.A. Live complex in downtown Los Angeles on Friday. Janelle Monae and Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child kept the festivities going at the second day of L.A. Live where they chatted in a live broadcast at the Radio Remote Room, and for Sunday’s main event Gabrielle Union (in Monika Chiang) and boyfriend NBA star Dwyane Wade cozied up in the audience as they waited for the stars like Robin Thicke, Nicki Minaj, Justin Timberlake, and more to take the stage at the Nokia Theatre. Sandra Bullock‘s new flick The Heat raked in $40 million during its opening weekend alone, and the star is celebrating on a stylish note! The 48 year-old actress caught our attention at the film’s very first screening in London, where she hit the carpet in a belted Victoria Beckham dress and L.A.M.B sandals. Opting for a range of noir ensembles for each event, Bullock proves the dark hue is anything but basic with each premiere look being more glamorous than the last. Bullock showed her love for warm-weather leather by incorporating the textured fabric into two of her red carpet looks: A leather cut-out Ermanno Scervino dress paired with Bottega Veneta sandals for the New York premiere, and an ASOS leather skirt, Michael Kors button-up, and Tabitha Simmons caged heels in Berlin. Another wow-worthy ensemble included a crisp black and white Roland Mouret number she wore to CinemaCon in Las Vegas. When in doubt, opt for a red lip! That’s what Gabby Douglas did at the 2013 BET Awards, where she topped off her glamorous gown by Sherri Hill with a swipe of true crimson lipstick. We loved how it tied her look together while giving off a classic Old Hollywood vibe, so we just had to find out the exact shade she used. “I’m wearing Ruby Woo by MAC,” Douglas told InStyle. While many opt to layer on the lip liner before sweeping on such a bold color, Douglas tried her hand at an easier method. “I apply only on the bottom lip and dab a little on the top,” she added. “You don’t want it to be too much and get all over the place.” Great tip! While some men consider themselves exempt from skincare, Miami Heat basketball star Dwyane Wade knows the importance of showing your complexion some TLC. Wade kept all of us on the edges of our seats last week in the moments leading up to his third championship win, and with such a quick turnaround between the high-octane games and press conferences, lathering up is a must for a seamless court to camera transition. ”Skincare is important since I am on the TV a lot. I need to be able to make sure that I have the right products to wash my face with to get that sweat and dirt off, so when I get in front of the camera, I am confident in myself,” said Wade. “I treat my body well — like with getting facials or other things some men would say ‘Aw, men shouldn’t do that!’ but I think men should, because we need to make sure we take care of our bodies as well.” Wade uses Dove Men+Care‘s Face Wash and Body Washes as post-game pick-me-ups, and if they can get him TV-ready in a matter of minutes, they’re sure to become staples for the man in your life.

Kate Moss is about to give your cell phone a makeover! The model, who previously created a line of clothes for Topshop, is taking her fashion expertise to the tech side by designing mobile phone and tablet accessories with Carphone Warehouse. ”My phone’s as much a part of my look as my bag or shoes, and yet there’s so little choice out there,” Moss said in a statement. “My whole approach was to treat this as any other fashion collaboration; I was heavily involved in the design process and loved seeing my vision come to life in the final product.” If the model’s personal style is any indicator, we’re expecting to see iPhone and iPad cases in sleek color combinations with an ultra-luxe touch. Keep an eye out for The Kate Moss Accessories Collection, which launches on carphonewarehouse.com later this summer.

Now that’s one way to kick off the 2013 BET Awards on a stylish note! This weekend, stars including Ashanti, NeNe Leakes and Jordin Sparks gathered at Milk Studios in Los Angeles to gear up for this year’s ceremony. Hosted by Debra L. Lee, the chairman and CEO of BET networks, guests mingled during the cocktail hour before settling into the elegant formal dining room, where the iconic Sheila E. took the stage for a surprise performance. Sparks in particular was excited, as it was her first time to attend the party. “Yes, I’m a newbie! I have no idea what to expect, but I’m excited,” she told us before heading inside. “I have to make sure I have a hair tie, because my hair will be curly by the end of the night if I’m dancing.” And there was definitely dancing!
