For 16 years, DKNY dominated Soho with its massive mural at the corner of Houston and Broadway. (Watch the creator of the wall Peter Arnell explain its history in the video above.) In 2008, the wall came down to make room for new artwork and ads—but the DKNY wall and its true New York spirit never left. Now, it’s going global. Starting this week, the brand launched #DKNYArtworks, a project that enlisted 10 international artists to create their own interpretations of the iconic DKNY Soho Wall (think 3D sculptures and billboards) and put them on display in 10 cities around the world (think London, Seoul, Paris, and Times Square). “It’s like a worldwide street art fair—connecting the dots of art, style and community,” says Donna Karan.
