Zoë Saldana is InStyle’s annual Hair issue cover girl—and now we can take you behind the scenes of her ultra-glamorous cover shoot! Of course, the Star Trek into Darkness star shows off her luscious hair in a number of different styles in the clip (watch it above!), but that’s not the only accessory Saldana knows how to work. Decked out in designer brands like Dior, Gucci, and Givenchy by Ricardo Tisci, the actress shows she’s still got a few modeling tricks up her sleeve (she got her start posing for designers like Calvin Klein). “I like androgyny,” the star told InStyle of her preferred sense of fashion. “I don’t feel like myself when I’m looking pretty. But every now and then, maybe four or five times a year, I just want to be a girl and look like a cherry apple.” She certainly pulled out all the stops for our shoot; watch her strut her stuff above! Read the full exclusive interview and see more photos by picking up InStyle Hair, on newsstands—and downloadable for your tablets!—starting Friday, April 5.

Frilly tuxedos, teased hair, and ruched gowns—yes, last night’s Dancing With The Stars was head-to-toe prom-themed. But Karina Smirnoff and Jacoby Jones went for an Old Hollywood look rather than ’80s rad-ness for their steamy rumba to Rihanna’s “Stay.” “I wanted my gown to be soft and romantic,” Smirnoff told InStyle.com. “I channeled the iconic, Rita Hayworth, when designing it.” As for partner Jacoby Jones, he had a shirt, but then… “we talked about it and decided that this was the moment to go shirtless!” Scoring 24 out of 30 certainly helped her partner make up for the high school prom he was kicked out of! Click “See the Photos” for more details on their weekly costumes, and tune in to ABC at 9/8c tonight for the live results show.
Mornings are busy! Here’s a time-saving trick, thanks to Beauty Director & Editor of InStyle Hair and Makeover Amy Synnott-D’Annibale. The busy mother of two (and one puppy!) revealed her getting-ready must-haves with this photo on her @AmySynnott Instagram this morning. Read on, and try your own #MommyGram soon!
AMY’S #MOMMYGRAM TIP: “I don’t have time to do my hair every day, so I wash it once a week at night and then freshen it up in the mornings. A few spritzes of dry shampoo (try Psssssst Dry Shampoo $7 at drugstores) and a bit of teasing around the crown helps camouflage greasy roots and add back some volume. I’ve also found that a few strokes with a Mason Pearson ($88 at nordstrom.com) does wonders for restoring shine and Breck-like bounce.”

Awww! It was a true Sleepless in Seattle/You’ve Got Mail reunion last night in New York, where Meg Ryan came out to support Tom Hanks at the opening of his Broadway play Lucky Guy. Ryan and Hanks got their start playing opposite each other in the quirky romantic comedies penned by the late Nora Ephron, a legacy that Hanks continues in his current starring role. Ephron penned the play, which tells the true story of tabloid journalist Mike McAlaray, who won the Pulitzer Prize shortly before his untimely death.
