Karl Lagerfeld’s Ice Cream-Inspired and Plastic Shoes for Melissa: Your First LookMar 27, 2013 @ 3:30 pm
Karl Lagerfeld continues his reign as the King of Fashion with his latest collaboration: a “Kollection” of shoes for Melissa. Following in the steps of Vivienne Westwood and Jason Wu, the designer debuted his bubblegum-scented looks (all of Melissa’s shoes are scented) last night at the Brazilian shoe brand’s Soho shop, where all of his designs for the capsule were on display—alongside Karl-shot campaign images, like this one, with It-model Cara Delevigne, who also attended in support of the launch. Lagerfeld said he was inspired by “the native country of the brand, celebrating the Brazilian joie de vivre,” which is how he conceived fun looks like ice cream cone heels, all 100% recyclable plastic. The Melissa x Karl Lagerfeld Kollection will hit shelves this May, available inside Melissa’s NYC shop and on shop601.com for $135 to $190.
