How Jennifer Garner Protects Her Kids (and Husband Ben!) from the Sun
Mar 19, 2013 @ 12:13 pmSpring starts tomorrow, and before you run into the sunshine, Jennifer Garner has a tip for you: Wear sunscreen. The actress makes sure she protects her entire family—including her three children with husband Ben Affleck—with a healthy dose every morning. “Sun care is such a big part of my family’s routine that if I’m not home, [my kids] will remind their dad to make sure they have it on,” Garner told InStyle.com at the Neutrogena Sun Summit in New York. “Sometimes they’re, like, ‘Mom!‘—and I don’t know any kid who isn’t—but you make it as fast and painless as possible.” And to do that, she recommends using spray-on sunscreen. “They’re fast easy, and they really do have great coverage, so we have those sprays everywhere. I have one in my purse, in my car, near the door before walking out, in the bedroom—everywhere!” For an easy-to-use spray sunscreen, try Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Body Mist ($8.49 at neutrogena.com) or Coppertone Sport Continuous Spray Ultra Sweatproof ($8 at walmart.com). This is another bad example from Hollywood. Sunshine is vital to our bodies, including children. Sunscreens are full of toxic carcinogens. A better solution would be to fill your kids diet full of antioxidants and make sure they have enough good oils (fish oil, olive oil, unrefined coconut oil) in their diet. Then they wouldn’t burn. This has even worked on my blonde haired, blue eyed toddler.
