Last night’s Dallas was an emotional hour—the series said goodbye to its iconic iron patriarch, J.R. Ewing, a character played by the late Larry Hagman in both the original and sequel series. To honor both J.R. and Hagman, costume designer Rachel Sage Kunin made sure that each actors’ memorial look just right. “This is a significant occasion that required the utmost attention to detail,” said Sage Kunin. “The Valentino jacket that Elena is wearing has a dark brocaded body and black paillettes around the neckline.
