In Jack the Giant Slayer, in theaters today, star Nicholas Hoult plays Jack, a farmhand that fights giants and protects the earth—all while romancing a feisty princess, played by Eleanor Tomlinson. So what’s the craziest thing that the British co-stars have done for love in real life? ”I’ve been coaxed onto Jet Skis by a girlfriend,” said Hoult in our March issue. “I thought, I’ve seen this—you just get on and cruise around. In reality, the sea is quite choppy and you’re bouncing around. I couldn’t unclasp my fingers for hours!” It seems Tomlinson is just as adventurous. “My boyfriend said, ‘let’s go skydiving,’” the actress told us. “He said, ‘Will you do it for me’? I jumped out of a plane for love. At 13,000 feet.” Looks like it’s all or nothing for these actors—both on screen and off! Runway Looks We Love: Christian Dior

Mar 1, 2013 @ 3:00 pm

Ladylike, sophisticated, and chic are three adjectives that can always be counted on to describe a Christian Dior collection, and the lineup that showed at Paris Fashion Week today did not disappoint. Less than a year after first debuting as the house’s designer, creative director Raf Simons continued the house’s legacy of ultra-feminine fashion for his fifth runway show. He debuted a series of black and white knits, intricate silhouettes, and evening-ready dresses adorned with sketches of birds, shoes, and faces to add extra appeal to flowing designs and ruffled waistlines. Essie’s New Nail Polish: Colors Inspired by Your Favorite Cities

Mar 1, 2013 @ 2:30 pm

The arrival of March means that warmer climes are right around the corner, but if your spring vacation still seems a lifetime away, Essie‘s latest collection is sure to hold you over. The famed nail brand just launched its six-piece spring lineup (available for $8 each on essie.com) featuring colors inspired by top getaway destinations like Rio de Janiero and New York City. “Everyone wants to know my favorite city, but just like a spectrum of color, it’s not about choosing one,” said the brand’s founder and creator Essie Weingarten. The shades range from pale pastels to high-impact reds and pinks, allowing you to hit up every destination in record time—minus the TSA screenings and killer jet-lag. Ready for takeoff? With the weekend in sight, we caught up with the hilarious Parks and Recreation star Rashida Jones to chat about how she preps for party nights. “I want to be comfortable!” she told InStyle.com at an event pre-Oscars. Luckily, her stylist Brad Goreski helps her always look so chic—though she does have one request that goes beyond his styling realm. “Shoes are so painful! Stop putting us in torture devices! Please,” she said. “I don’t care what it looks like. The idea of going out for 7 to 10 hours at night and hobbling around in these vices—it’s so insane. I can’t do it. My shoe situation is never cute.” That said, we’ve spotted her in (from left) Rupert Sanderson, Giuseppe Zanotti, Nicholas Kirkwood, and Christian Louboutin—and not a hobble in sight. Fabulous footwear does have its advantages!
