Neil Lane on Why Christina Applegate’s Engagement Ring Fits Just Right

Christina Applegate married her longtime sweetheart, musician Martyn LeNoble, over the weekend during a private ceremony at their home in Los Angeles. The bride wore a gown by Maria Lucia Hohan, and a particularly sparkly accessory on her left ring finger thanks to jewelry designer Neil Lane, the multi-diamond ring shown at right, which matched the groom’s hand-made platinum wedding band, also shown. “We took her engagement ring and fit it in a sleeve of little diamonds to become one with the wedding band,” Lane told InStyle.com. “It’s platinum and diamond inset with tiny little diamonds everywhere. The diamond ring has a border of diamonds around it like a sleeve.” Lane also extended his congratulations to the happy couple: “It was just the right time for them. They’re a very happy couple. There is a great deal of love between them.”

Last Night on Smash: Jennifer Hudson’s Diamond Jewelry Featured 37 Carats

The latest episode of Smash featured Jennifer Hudson‘s Veronica Moore putting on a “Judy Garland at Carnegie Hall”-esque one-woman show, and she was dripping in diamonds for the occasion. And as it turns out, all those jewels were real, too! Jacob & Co. shared close-up looks at the chandelier earrings and cocktail ring Hudson wore on-set. The teardrop earrings boasted 23 carats worth of irregular cut and white diamonds, while the finger bauble shined studded with 14 carats of pave diamonds. Jennifer Lopez wowed at this year’s Grammys in one of the night’s sexiest dresses—a billowing satin number complete with a thigh-high slit—a piece by Belgian designer Anthony Vaccarello.
