Dallas Season 2, Episode 6: The Scoop on Elena’s Lace Look

Feb 26, 2013 @ 12:52 pm

The Ewings went head-to-head in another intense Dallas episode last night—but there’s lots of love behind the scenes! Costume designer Rachel Sage Kunin, who outfitted Jordana Brewster as Elena (with Jesse Metcalfe as Christopher Ewing) in these ALC and Theory separates, says she couldn’t have more fun with her leading lady. “Jordana and I have such fun outfitting Elena together. We find great joy in shopping and playing around with clothing, trying new and different pieces on,” Sage Kunin told InStyle.com. “We found this ALC top and Theory pant on one of our fabulous excursions to Neiman Marcus.” Classic! That’s a wrap! Awards season officially came to a close following Sunday night’s Oscars, but we’re already eager to recreate the winning nail looks we’ve spotted. We put together a list of the 25 best manicures from the Golden Globes, Grammys, Oscars, and every ceremony in between! Jessica Alba kicked off the nail game on a high note at the Globes, pairing her citrus-toned dress with a pastel pink lacquer, while Rihanna and Anne Hathaway matched their manis to their couture ensembles. Hathaway in particular has opted for fun and creative designs each time she hit the red carpet—at the Oscars, her pale rose nails were inscribed with the initials of her maternal and paternal grandmothers. Looks like the reigning nail art queen Zooey Deschanel has some competition! Click through for more manicure inspiration.

Anne Hathaway’s Busy (and Chic) Awards Season Red Carpet Run

Anne Hathaway is now an Oscar-winning actress. She wore Prada (left) when she took home the golden statue for Best Supporting Actress for her tear-jerking portrayal of Fantine in Les Miserables, and she took one very long, well-dressed road to get to that Oscars stage. At the annual nominees luncheon before the big day, she still didn’t know what she would wear. “I need to get on that, don’t I?” she told reporters. “I definitely have some ideas, some cool options, but no specific plans yet, no preparation.” Whether she was wearing (L to R) Gucci at the Costume Designers Guild Awards, Chanel Couture at the Golden Globes, or runway-fresh Giambattista Valli at the SAG Awards, Hathaway always put her best foot forward—and she only repeated designers twice. Georgina Chapman’s JCP Collection Hit Stores Early —You Can Shop It Now!

Feb 26, 2013 @ 11:45 am

Remember when we announced just last week that Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman designed an affordable evening collection for JCPenney? Well the line is already here! The department store decided to bump up the release of Chapman’s Pearl dresses by four days, meaning that you can already shop the lady’s couture lookalikes, with floral and lace details on separates and minis ($50 to $110) plucked straight from the runway, on jcpenney.com right now. “I love dressing all women—celebrities or otherwise—but personally my favorites are those who are risk-takers, who aren’t afraid to push boundaries,” Chapman told InStyle.com. So ladies: Take that risk—on Pearl’s scalloped lace shorts, perhaps?—and get shopping!

Plus, see Machesa on the red carpet!

New Hunger Games: Catching Fire Poster—A Wedding Portrait Tease?

Feb 26, 2013 @ 11:20 am

Lionsgate released a new poster for the upcoming installment of The Hunger Game franchise, Catching Fire! The poster shows 74th Annual Hunger Games Victors Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and Katniss Everdeen (Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence) about to embark on their official Victory Tour—an enforced journey to visit all of the districts. And for the first time, fans get an up close look at the costumes that we’ll be seeing in the movie! Swathed in all white, Peeta and Katniss are dressed in formal clothing that befits their victory journey–Peeta wears a crisp shirt and dress pants, and Katniss dons a billowing dress. Could this be a nod to a future wedding perhaps? We’ll have to wait until the movie hits theaters on November 22 to see!
