The Oscars may have dominated the air waves this weekend, but that doesn’t mean we forgot Milan Fashion Week! InStyle‘s Fashion Director Cindy Weber Cleary spent the whole weekend in Italy at the shows, and she sent us her favorite look from each day, starting with Versace (center). “Donatella went wild with her neo-punk theme for fall 2013, but rock stars and sex symbols alike will fight over this fierce vinyl look,” Weber declared. We can see it! Click through to see her favorite pieces at Bottega Veneta and Dolce & Gabbana, and check back tomorrow for more!
From the beginning of the night to the end, the stars who attended the 85th Annual Academy Awards (or just watched from afar) took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Hollywood’s biggest night! Relive some of the best moments you may have missed on your feed by checking out our list of the ten most memorable Tweets from the Oscars. Click through the gallery to see our favorite updates, including Ben Affleck‘s heartfelt thank you, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s adorable photos of his date (Lincoln co-star Sally Field) helping him tie his bow tie on the way to the ceremony, Quvenzhané Wallis and Samuel L. Inspired by the mosaics of Sicily’s Cathedral of Monreale, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s latest collection will have many preaching the gospel of Dolce & Gabbana come fall. Presenting a fittingly ornate collection, the duo sent their models down the runway adorned in golden crowns and jeweled rosaries. The clothing matched the grandeur of the accessories and ranged from muted fresco prints to a cardinal red finale. Among the referential designs and signature Dolce & Gabbana peek-a-boo lace sheaths was ladylike suiting that could rival any woman’s Sunday best. See our favorite looks in the gallery!
In addition to the couture offerings at last night’s Academy Awards, celebrities were lining the carpet in gorgeous, classic manicures. The intricate nail art trend was swapped for tried-and-true elegant shades, and the lacquers worn by Stacy Keibler, Kerry Washington, and Adele were among our favorites. Perhaps as a nod to the night’s festivities, Keibler accented her Naeem Khan gown with Deborah Lippmann’s Glamorous Life ($17; deborahlippmann.com), while Washington and Adele chose timeless nude hues. Washington, who plays Olivia Pope on Scandal, wears a buff-toned lacquer for the show, but appropriately decided to add a touch of shimmer before hitting the red carpet. Click through our gallery to take a closer look at their nails, and see more of the manicures we loved last night!
The Academy Awards were a big night for Adele—in addition to her stellar performance of “Skyfall,” (for which she was backed by a 1,500-lb. curtain made of 100,000 Swarovski crystals) the singer also took home an Oscar for Best Original Song, making her only two awards away from the coveted EGOT status! Of course, Adele never disappoints in the beauty category, and through the course of her memorable night, she showed off two gorgeous hair and makeup looks. We caught up with her hairstylist and makeup artist Michael Ashton, who took us on an exclusive trip backstage to see how the star’s lush lashes and soft curls came together. Click “See the Photos” to get the complete breakdown, with key tips on how you can recreate it at home!

The 85th Academy Awards red carpet spotlighted a few key fashion trends: pastels, sparkling metallics, and, perhaps most prominently, the statement back. We first noticed it on Anne Hathaway (middle), who stunned in a tie-backed pink satin column by Prada (and a dangling Tiffany & Co. necklace) when she picked up her statue for Best Supporting Actress. Stacy Keibler (right) also rocked a sheer back on her Naeem Khan gown, and Renée Zellweger dared to bare in a Carolina Herrera gown with a plunging back and contrasting bow ties. Sexy is back—literally!
