Scandal Tonight: Olivia’s “Feminine and Romantic” Escada Gown
Feb 21, 2013 @ 2:53 pmOlivia Pope (Kerry Washington) may be unlucky in love in Washington D.C.—she has dysfunctional relationships with both the President and Senator Davis—but on tonight’s all-new episode of Scandal, she’ll be playing matchmaker to another high-profile politician, played by guest star Eric Mobius. For this pivotal episode, costume designer Lyn Paolo outfitted Pope in a black and white Escada dress, which she called, “a transitional gown” that “echoes” Olivia’s previous two gowns featured on the show. “Originally, we saw Olivia in a sleek Calvin Klein gown, then we moved to a more romantic-feeling Jean Fares gown with a full skirt and a lot of beading,” Paolo told InStyle.com. “Now, because Olivia’s life and loves are once again in turmoil, we have transitioned to a gown that is both black and white, feminine and romantic, with a lace paneled back but from the front a geometric strong shape and silhouette.” We love the of-the-moment choice, reminiscent of Julianne Moore’s striking Tom Ford gown at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. Tune in to Scandal tonight at 10 p.m. EST on ABC to see what happens when Olivia Pope & Associates tackle date night, and Olivia gets set up herself by Navy captain turned spy, Jake (played by the always adorable Scott Foley).

Olivia Pope’s great on Scandal and she’s wonderful thanks to Kerry Washington. I got hooked on the show thanks to my wife who watches once it’s been recorded. I work the evenings at DISH so I can’t watch any primetime shows until the next day which was always a nightmare. I hated my timer conflicts and having all the DVRs recording in the evenings never made anyone in my family happy. I rely on my PrimeTime Anytime feature in my DISH Hopper DVR, which records the 4 major networks nightly during primetime hours. This has brought peace to my home and helped enhance everyone’s TV experience.
