Exclusive Details about Katy Perry’s New Ruby Ring on Her Left Ring Finger: From the Jeweler!

Feb 15, 2013 @ 7:15 pm

Katy Perry got a brand new ring for Valentine’s Day! The singer was spotted leaving dinner with John Mayer wearing a ruby ring on her very special left ring finger, and Santa Barbara-based jeweler Daniel Gibbings, who designed the ring, gave us all the exclusive details on the stunner. The one-of-a-kind piece boasts a high-dome, heart-shaped 12-carat ruby set in 20-karat gold, and the side stones are tear-drop tsavorites (see the photo at right for a zoomed-in, close-up version). The designer revealed that Mayer purchased the bauble himself. While we don’t know for sure whether or not the ruby ring is an engagement ring, we do love the way she’s been coordinating it to romantic red outfits!

And just in case, see more celebrity engagement rings we love.

Runway Beauty Looks We Love: Marc Jacobs

Feb 15, 2013 @ 6:49 pm

Mixing equal parts punk and folk rock, gray shadow and tousled layers reigned supreme on the runways of Marc JacobsNew York Fashion Week show. “It’s Joan Jett meets Marianne Faithfull meets punk rock,” said lead makeup artist Francois Nars. We’re sure the choppy shag cuts did Ms. Jett proud, and we also loved the touch of retro glamour held by the smoldering eye. Just before the models took to the catwalk, we caught up with the hair and makeup pros who created the looks, and even got a sneak peek at Jacobs’ upcoming cosmetic line. Why Chanel’s Re-Issued Premiere Watch Is So Coco Chanel

Feb 15, 2013 @ 6:05 pm

Coco Chanel never designed a watch during her prolific career, but every timepiece made by the House of Chanel reflects the couturière’s legacy. The Camellia, her signature flower, appears on some special watches. Her beloved pearls on others. The designer’s favorite colors of black and white can be found on the sleek J12 ceramic designs. Yet, arguably, no timepiece channels Coco Chanel more clearly than the very first one, the Première. Launched in 1987, it featured a chunky gold chain that reflected the famous bag straps and an octagonal case inspired by the shape of the octagon stopper on a bottle of Chanel No. 5. Now, Chanel has gently revamped the watch with more delicate links and a variety of incarnations, including deluxe gold and diamonds pieces and everyday versions in steel. Watch the video above to see it in action, and visit chanel.com for store locations to snap one up of your own.
