Are you a good witch or a bad witch? With palettes this pretty, it’s hard to decide! In anticipation of Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful, Urban Decay is launching two makeup sets inspired by sorceresses Glinda and Theodora. Each includes a lip color pencil, a handful of shadows and blushes, eyeliner, and a face chart with instructions on recreating the looks worn by Michelle Williams (Glinda) and Mila Kunis (Theodora). Glinda’s palette is filled with light, ethereal tones, while the Theodora set combines deep neutrals with a dramatic red lip. American Idol is back tonight for its twelfth season! Along with the new talent, the show welcomes Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Keith Urban to the judge’s panel. Idol originals Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest are back again, but Seacrest told The Today Show that the new season is not the show of old. “Is the show a lot different? Absolutely,” Seacrest told Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie. He’s most likely referring his two new diva co-stars. “These are two very very spirited, strong, individual performers who have had a lot of success that aren’t shy about their opinion.” Catch the first night of the two-part premiere at 8/7c on FOX.

Michelle Dockery’s Golden Globes Stylist on Her Dress: “We Didn’t Want It To Be Too Downton

Jan 16, 2013 @ 4:40 pm

Downton Abbey fans are undoubtedly used to seeing Michelle Dockery in lots of lace, frills, and extravagant hats as Lady Mary Crawley on the hit PBS show, but she made a conscious departure from her ladylike character for Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards in a modern gold-and-white Alexandre Vauthier dress. “We didn’t want it to be too Downton,” Dockery’s stylist for the Globes, Micaela Erlanger, told InStyle.com. “We wanted it to be classic, but we didn’t want it to be the same shapes and silhouettes that her character wears. Sure, there’s lace, but there’s also those incredible shoulder pads. Even though it had classic elements, it was modern and glamorous.” And is this indicative of what we’ll seeing Dockery wear to more big events in the future? “She knows and loves fashion, so at the end of the day, she will take the risks she wants to,” Erlanger told InStyle.com. “She’s trying different things and that’s what fashion is all about: having fun and creating a look. I think she can carry pretty much anything, she’s so exquisite!” And InStyle agrees—flip to page 204 to see Dockery model spring’s big red trend! On the go? Download the issue on your iPad, Nook, or Droid tablet.

It was a whirlwind week for the cast of Nashvillestars Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton both received Golden Globe nominations for their roles on the show and made knock-out appearances on the red carpet for Sunday’s ceremony. “I have to fly back to Nashville tomorrow, and I’m completely not packed or ready to go,” Britton told InStyle at the Awards, opting to toast her costars Sunday night instead of fretting about her flight. “In my brain I was trying to coordinate all the things that I’m going to have to think about in the morning, and then I just said, ‘Forget it. I’m not going to worry about that right now.’” After a long night of celebrating at the Globes, it was back to business on-set in Tennessee. Expect a rocky start on tonight’s all-new episode when the ladies finally kick off their on-screen arena tour, without Deacon in tow. We’re hoping their stage costumes will be just as dazzling as their red carpet looks! Tune in to Nashville tonight at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
