From cutouts to illusion lace, we spotted the scene-stealing moments that absolutely wowed us on the Golden Globes red carpet. The ladies may have stolen the show in red, but the men gave them a run for their money! Best Supporting Actor nominee Leonardo DiCaprio looked handsome in a classic black tie tuxedo by Tom Ford, Ben Affleck, who won Best Director and Best Picture for Argo, chose an unconventional navy three-piece tux, Bradley Cooper, Best Actor in a Drama nominee for Silver Linings Playbook, also wore a Tom Ford suit, and presenter Robert Pattinson went with his go-to red carpet designer, Gucci.

InStyle went backstage with all of the big winners at the Golden Globes! Best Supporting Actor winner Christoph Waltz took home the trophy for his stirring turn in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, and told InStyle.com he can’t wait to stash his award next to his other Golden Globe, which he received three years ago for Inglorious Basterds . “It sounds so ridiculous, but I put it with the other one,” Waltz said of his awards. “It’s in a cupboard, in a wardrobe, you know, behind closed doors. You can’t look at your awards all the time. Once in a while, maybe twice a month, I need to get into that wardrobe and then I see them.” And what went through Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence’s mind when her name was called? Pure joy! “I got to go on the stage!” she told InStyle.com. See more stars backstage and what they had to say about their new statues in the gallery!

It might have been chilly in Los Angeles at tonight’s Golden Globes, but Jessica Alba was bronzed and glowing fresh from her Cabo vacation. She showed off her sun-kissed complexion in a peach Oscar de la Renta mermaid gown and pop of color on her pout. Her makeup artist, Lauren Andersen told us, “The dress was the inspiration, I loved the contrast between her glowing skin and the matte orange lip. It’s an almost tropical shade that’s not an exact match for the dress but close.” Andersen chose Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Riviera, ($28 at hourglasscosmetics.com)—the velvety matte color delivers rich pigments and long-lasting coverage for up to 14 hours!

The 70th Annual Golden Globes red carpet was just that—red! Celebrities walked the carpet in varying shades of the standout hue. Marion Cotillard wore a custom-made strapless coral Chrstian Dior design, Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical winner Jennifer Lawrence also chose a Dior creation in the same tone as Cotillard, Zooey Deschanel donned a brighter shade matching her lips to her Oscar de la Renta dress, and Best Actress in a Television Drama winner, Claire Danes, popped in a cardinal-colored halter Versace gown. Plus, many other celebrities picked dresses in the same color family! Naomi Watts (in Zac Posen) and Jennifer Garner (in Vivienne Westwood) both arrived in burgundy numbers, making us blush with excitement!

From her retro ponytail to her fun nail art, Zooey Deschanel’s beauty look at the 2013 Golden Globes certainly didn’t disappoint! We particularly liked how her sheer lip played off of the tones in her red Oscar de la Renta number without appearing overdone. “We always love to go very ’60s with Zooey’s makeup, so we looked to Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy for inspiration,” said her makeup artist Jorjee Douglas, who snapped an exclusive Instagram shot before Deschanel took to the red carpet. “We went with a modern version of the look that made her blue eyes pop.” Douglas layered two Tarte products to create a custom hue for the star, starting with the Glamazon Pure Performance Lipstick in Bold ($26; tartecosmetics.com). Using her fingers, she dabbed on the coral color to create a stain, then swept the LipSurgence Lip Tint in Delighted ($24; tartecosmetics.com) on top.

British actress Sienna Miller made a youthful choice with her red carpet style at tonight’s Golden Globes: a pastel Erdem two-piece set covered in tiny floral embellishments. “He’s really the hottest young designer coming out of England, so I went to him and was like can you make me a dress for the Globes?,” Miller told red carpet host Ryan Seacrest of her custom-made dress by Erdem Moralioğlu. Do you like her choice?
