“It’s so beautiful!” Mad Men bombshell Christina Hendricks said when she walked into the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood—which got an extra dose of romance thanks to gorgeous floral centerpieces by florist Joseph Free—to celebrate a night honoring Hollywood glamour hosted by Dior Beauty along with Kate Mara, Ashley Madekwe, Emmy RossumDita Von Teese, and more. Nikki Reed loved the flower arrangements so much that she grabbed a bundle to take home to her husband, Paul McDonald. “He loves flowers! These will make him happy,” Reed said. And that wasn’t the only treat she walked away with—each guest took home a bag filled with not-yet-released makeup items from Dior’s new lineup. Added Krysten Ritter: “It’s all great lipstick, gloss, nail polish, and makeup. I’m so blessed. It’s like candy!” Click through the gallery to see more exclusive photos from the event.

1600 Penn, the new comedy from Modern Family director Jason Winer and funnyman Josh Gad (you may recognize him from the Broadway smash hit Book of Mormon), premieres tonight on NBC. The show features an all-star cast, with Gad playing perennial mess-up Skip, Bill Pullman heading the House as President Gilchrist, and Jenna Elfman starring as the First Lady (but second wife!). The show takes a lighthearted look at life in the White House with a band of misfits for a family. One daughter’s pregnant, another may be a lesbian, and then, of course, there’s Gad, the lovable but unpredictable “idiot brother” who’s spent the better part of the last decade in college—your basic PR nightmare. Realistic? No. Hilarious? We think so. Tune in tonight at 9:30 p.m. EST on NBC to see for yourself!

Scandal Returns Tonight: Here’s What to Expect

Jan 10, 2013 @ 4:11 pm

ABC’s hit political drama Scandal returns tonight from its winter hiatus and we’ve got a sneak peak at what’s to come in the second half of the season. In a word: flashbacks!  With the president’s life still hanging in the balance, Huck being investigated under the Patriot Act, and Mellie facing tough decisions about the future of her family, we’re soon going to learn more about what brought everyone to their present situations. Flashing back to the presidential race, the secrets of Fitz’s rigged election campaign are slowly going to be revealed.  We’re hoping to see the softer side of Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) in these early days, with a wardrobe to reflect her evolving relationship with Fitz and her changing role in Washington. “[Olivia] is a powerful woman in Washington, but she also writes her own rules,” Washington told InStyle.com at a recent HFPA luncheon. “This season we’re doing a lot of Escada, Ferragamo, and tons of Armani.” We can’t wait to watch! Tune in tonight at 10 p.m. EST on ABC to see what happens in the past and the present.

Katie Couric Goes Makeup-Free On Friday’s Show!

Jan 10, 2013 @ 3:59 pm

Katie Couric is baring it all on her show tomorrow! She’s going makeup-free to interview Phoebe Baker Hyde, author of the new book The Beauty Experiment, where she gave up makeup, new clothing, jewelry and more. Instead of applying Katie’s beauty staples—like Lancôme concealer, Laura Mercier eye shadows and L’Oréal mascara—the talk show host is simply cleansing her face in the morning with Dove face wash and Lancôme moisturizer. “I’ve been on television for a while now, but this is a first for me! No makeup…what am I thinking?” Couric told InStyle.com exclusively. “But the average American woman spends $12,000-$15,000 on beauty and salon treatments annually, not to mention 160 hours every year on primping and grooming. That’s an entire week of your life every year! So we thought it would be interesting to do a show like this, and if Phoebe Baker Hyde can do it for a whole year, I can surely do it for an hour, right?” Tune in to Katie tomorrow, Friday, January 11 (click here to see when it airs near you) to see the the talk show host go au natural! And tell us: What’s your makeup routine?

Plus, see Katie’s transformation!
