Happy New Year! To celebrate the beginning of 2013, we thought we’d give away some of our favorite treats: cupcakes. We love these miniature ones from Baked By Melissa because they’re tiny (perfect for anyone who made a New Year’s resolution to eat fewer sweets!) and they’re dipped in chocolate. It doesn’t get any better than that! One lucky reader will win a box of 8 miniature chocolate-dipped stuffed cupcakes, featuring flavors like coconut cream, coffee caramel, peanut butter fluff, and more. To enter for a chance to win, tell us your favorite New Year’s memory in the comments below in 100 words or less by Monday, January 7 at 10 a.m. EST. (U.S. residents only.) We’ll contact the winners via email. Good luck!

UPDATE: Congratulations to winner Lauren Kalma!

My favorite New Year’s memory is this year’s: staying in to celebrate with my husband, my two dogs, Champagne, and good food, then just relaxing on January 1st. Perfect!

My favorite New Year’s memory is spending it at home with my sister when we were still living with our parents. Our parents would go out and we’d have the house to ourselves! We lived for that in middle/high school! :)

My favorite New Year’s memory is spending new years with my extended family. We went to the town celebration and watched fireworks from the town green square and danced to the holiday music with the kids and then afterward went to the open cafe for hot chocolate.

My favorite New Year’s memory is when my family and I traveled down to Disney to spend the holiday with our grandparents. It was the last year I spent with my grandmother before she passed away of breast cancer, and seeing her strength and her joy while watching the fireworks display is a memory that I’ll cherish forever.

I peaked really early in the NYE dept. I had a party when I was 13– the first big girl/boy party (my parents were just progressive like that). I heard from a friend who heard from a friend that the boy I liked wanted to kiss me at midnight. Then, it happened around 11:59PM– my first kiss! I had over-prepared in the lipstick dept. and he turned bright red when he realized he had lipstick all over this mouth. Over the last 10 years, my NYE’s have been relaxed dinners, small get-togethers, and Chinese take-out feasts. But NYE 2003 is still one to beat.

My favorite New Year’s memory was the year I was able to spend it with all of my family….my parents, husband, in-laws, brother & his family…..it’s so rare that we are able to spend time together….so any time we have together is very special. We love playing cards & watching the ball drop NYC <3

My favorite New Year’s memory is from 1999 (although has nothing to do with partying like it’s 1999 OR the artist formerly known as Prince.) My husband (then boyfriend) and I went to California that year, and we spent the day at Disneyland. To celebrate New Year’s, Disneyland was part of the show on ABC, with music and dancing and general merriment. We had the official countdown to New Year’s at 9:00 p.m., since it was being taped for the east coast. Shortly after, my husband and I went back to our hotel and watched the NYE countdown on ABC, basically reliving where we had just been. The cool part was that we got to have the new year happen twice for us!

My favorite and most memorable NYE is the one I spent with my husband when he was deployed to the middle east. The fact that we could spent it together during the hard times for him was the only thing keeping him strong and faithful. It made me believe in the impossible and be more thankful for every moment we spend together :) Now, we are trying to make it a tradition and spend all New Year’s Eves together as a family.
