Exclusive: It Took 27 Hours To Dye Rose McGowan’s Hair Blonde

Dec 19, 2012 @ 12:51 pm

Rose McGowan recently went platinum blonde for the first time ever, and to complete her hair makeover, she really needed to commit. “All told, it took about 27 hours,” McGowan told InStyle.com at the Humane Society of the United States’ To The Rescue! New York benefit. “The first day alone was 14 hours,” The dye job was done by celebrity colorist Tracey Cunningham—much loved by stars like Natalie PortmanGwyneth Paltrow, and Drew Barrymore—and was inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer’s iconic locks in Scarface. “I’ve just been in a little bit of a rebellious mood, what can I say?” McGowan said of her decision. ”It was a big transition.” Indeed!

Project Runway: Zac Posen Replaces Michael Kors as Judge

Dec 19, 2012 @ 11:10 am

There’s a switching of the judges on Project Runway! Michael Kors is leaving the show, and filling his empty seat is celebrity-favorite Zac Posen, who took Twitter to announce his big news. “So excited to be the new judge on @ProjectRunway Season 11!!” The switch is due to scheduling conflicts that prohibited Kors from being a regular judge. However, this is not the end of Kors’s days on Project Runway. “Michael will be seen in the future on the show and we are excited to confirm that Michael will be back as a judge for season 11 finale,” Lifetime said in a statement. If you already miss The CW’s Gossip Girl, you won’t have to wait much longer for the network to replace it with another salacious and fashionable show. Premiering January 14th is The Carrie Diaries, which follows a young Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb) pre-Sex-and-the-City, as she navigates both Manhattan and her hometown in suburban Connecticut in the ‘80s. And falling in line with Sex and the City’s fashion legacy (courtesy of costume designer Patricia Field), the show has Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman on hand to dress the young Carrie in all her pre-Manolo looks. (Daman gave InStyle.com this exclusive preview of Carrie’s fashion above!) “This is more of an independent film and we have to make everybody ‘80s-appropriate,” he told InStyle.com of his approach. “This New York is a much brighter kind of neon meets gritty.” Catch all the radical ‘80s fabulousness when The Carrie Diaries premeires January 14th on The CW at 8/7c.
